“The Israeli soldiers are shooting on people who shoot on them; the Serb soldiers were shooting on unarmed civilians in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo. Quite a difference.”

Oh Victor, very naughty. I think the Palestinians would beg to differ with you. I’ll be happy to send you a copy of Jimmy Carter’s new book if you like, I just finished it. Strangely enough Carter leaves out some stuff that I think should have been focused more on. However, he does a marvelous job at presenting the Palestinian perspective in that conflict.

Do you really think its appropriate to attack rock throwing children with tanks and machine guns? Do you think its ok to routinely bulldoze entire villages and refugee camps? The Israeli government still refuses to even discuss the possibility of the return of the millions upon millions of refugee’s who are the result of their policy of ethnic cleansing. Basically the Israeli government invaded an Independent country and occupied it brutality for many many decades in an abhorrent fashion. Strangely enough, Carter supports a partition/land swap solution to that crisis, something we might want to consider in solving the current situation in Kosovo.

According to you when a government acts in such a manner to their own people they are fully justified in committing crimes in retaliation. Hence your strong approval of the crimes committed during Operation Storm.

The fact is by far the vast majority of Palestinians attacks are against either military targets, or those Nationalistic Jewish settlers who are insane enough to move into Palestinian territory just looking for trouble. The fact is the attacks on café’s in Jerusalem are in the minority. Most Official Palestinian policies actually oppose attacks on innocent Israeli targets. The Israeli’s routinely target Palestinian political leaders for assassination.

Clearly Israel has the right to exist, and after what happened during WWII who can blame them for getting all freaky whenever something threatens their survival? They need understanding and reassurance that another genocide will not happen to their people. In much the same way, Serbs have overreacted as a result of what happened to them in WWII when they believed their survival was at stake.

What the Israeli Gov. is doing in Palestine has nothing to do with what the Serb Gov. did in Bosnia. The Israeli soldiers are shooting on people who shoot on them; the Serb soldiers were shooting on unarmed civilians in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo. Quite a difference.

Quote:
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert asked British Foreign Minister Margaret Becket on Wednesday to enact a law preventing the arrest of Israel Defense Forces officers in British territory, during their meeting in Jerusalem.
… The Belgian law transferred the authority to issue arrest warrants for foreign citizens on accusations of war crimes from the courts to the government.
---
American’s excluded them selves for being prosecuted internationally for war crimes…now Israelis… Let’s ask them politely to exclude us too…maybe…one never know…
