Yeah lowe, keep dreaming that Russia would be pleased. Come on guys, do you think that Russia really cares for what happens in Serbia? They don't even care for their own territories in Russia so forget about Serbia who is miles away from Russia.
Remember, Russians had soldiers in Kosovo and they couldnt even feed them so they took them back to Russia because the russians saw NO INTEREST in Kosova. I understand the need of serbs to find someone who can help them, but honestly, Russia is not someone who would help you guys.
If you the serbs can not help yourselves understand the reality, then nobody else will help you.
Russians let huge republics break away such Ukraine, Bellarussia, and they couldnt stop them, so forget about them helping you, they have their own problems.
Russia now is like an olddddddd bear who cant move anymore.
Also, in one side the Serbs want to join the EU and in the other side they talk of brotherhod and how friendly they want to be with Russia. Remember that the difference between Russia and the EU is really big, so you are really confused on who to go with RUSSIA or EU. Russians of course will not be happy to see serb leaders asking to join the EU, so of course they will not help you. JUST LIKE THEY DID NOT HELP YOU IN 1999 when you were BOMBED by USA and EU.

If Radicals and Kushtunica form a government than more troubles for the regions, economic stagnation and more loss battles for Serbia and Serbs.

If Radicals and Kushtunica form a government we cant be certain that another conflict will not ensue. If it happens Serbs you should not expect to adventure for free.
I think those who voted Radicals, Socialists, and Kushtunica should be sent back to Russia, because they have no place in the B. Peninsula.
Voting for Radicals, Socialists, and Kushtunica is no different as voting for the National Socialist German Workers Party in 1920s.
Serbs if you want to live in the Balkans you should forget the old Russians habits of grabbing other people’s lands.

The U.S. has just asked for a big troop increase to Iraq.

Why do they need so many soldiers in a war that is getting worse if they have control of the situation?

The Taliban is learning the methods of the Iraqi resistance.

There's been another helicopter shoot down the other day and multiple U.S. soldiers are dying each day.

Things are tending to get worse and more soldiers are needed for the Middle East.

Even if the Serbs have a Plan B, it is too late now. They are 15 years yoo late. They had an autonomus status and Milosevic took it away, sent him the army, massacred 12 000 Albanians and expelled 800 000. The Albanians don't want to 'hear' anymore of Serbs, and anybody can understand. They want independence and, after all they have suffered, they desserve it 100%.

I happen to be a senior partner for a political lobbying firm and the statement below is ridiculous. The amount of money Alnbanians put into place is certainly more than Serbs (not by much), and it's hardly anything to brag about. Trust me, I know.

I am an American, and I don't side with the Albanians. I do not see you as brothers. I see the Balkans as another attempt by the West to control areas of the world for their own intersts. That's all. It is not for the love of Albanians. But more times then not, the West bites off more than they can chew, and then looks for a quick and convenient place to spit.

Russia certainly is going to be the big winner in all of this regardless of what their actions are. It’s a total win-win for them. Opposing Kosovo Independence will either get them some concessions on something favorable to them, or if they do in fact use their veto, they won’t see any negative consequences from it. Putin is a strong leader with an extremely high popularity among the Russians. They love him. Serbia will move closer into Russia’s sphere of influence.

However, I think that in fact is a good thing for Serbia. Serbia should strike a balanced approach between Russia and the EU, that way, we’ll be able to get more from both in the future. Serbia is strategically important, there’s a reason why the Belgrade Airport is the cheapest to fly to in that region. Its an important flight hub. If Serbia were to develop a truly strong economy, then our importance to the future of the EU would actually be rather significant. We should be patient, work hard, and pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. We in the Diaspora can do our part by vacationing and spending our money in Serbia, maybe buy a summer home, or possibly starting or helping to start small businesses.

I criticised all the not Serbian people/diplomats/officials that tried to influence Serbian public opinion before the elections, but now I think that it is right to express an opinion on the political situation in Serbia.

there will be 6 new serb municipalities of which north mitrovica and novo brdo are included. the huge trepca mines are located there. if there would be no political cooperation between the majority and minorities, these would become flashpoints.
