I've read that Mladic was even attending baseball matches in the stadium! (Victor, 3 February 2007, 14:32)

RE: Mladic the Baseball Fan

I didn't know Mladic was a baseball fan? Are you implying he is in the United States or Japan watching baseball games? That would imply the US is protecting him somehow.

Jack

As a British citizen I would like to invite Mr Mladic and Mr Karadzic to come and stay at my house if they wish.

Their experience of defending their homeland against muslim extremist insurgents will be very useful in Britain at this time.

«Think of the millions of people in Serbia that are suffering because the Serbian Government can not find Mladic, despite it's very best efforts to apprehend him. »

Come on! Between 1995 and 2002, I've read that Mladic was even attending baseball matches in the stadium! Mladic was receiving his 'pension' as a normal citizen, and an indictment was pending on him for war crimes, criems against humanity and genocide! And you want me to believe you. Even lately, Mrs Del Ponte indicated to the Serbian Gov. where Mladic was and they did not move to arrest him. The morale of all this is simple: the Serbian authorities give more credit to their war criminals and their victims. This is a shame and also a reason why Serbia should have no place in Europe. As an European living in Canada, I would be greatly insulted.

There have been many rulers who have asked for the capture of certain people and no one in their right mind can say that they did not try their very best.

Nazi Germany tried very, very hard and failed to capture all the people it wanted, even though it had total authoriy over Europe. No sane person can accuse Nazi Germany of not trying their best. I can mention many others rulers, but I think that the point is obvious and sufficient to all reasonable people.

Serbia has done it's utmost, and the evidence can be seen by the fact that Serbia has found many suspects and sent them to the Hague. Serbia is not as strong as Nazi Germany was, and so it comes as no surprise if Serbia can not find every suspect.

There is a well recognized principle that has been firmly established when it comes to justice; and it states that it is better for ten guilty people to go free rather than to have even one innocent person suffer unjustly.

Think of the millions of people in Serbia that are suffering because the Serbian Government can not find Mladic, despite it's very best efforts to apprehend him.

Therefore, the only just and balanced thing for the EU to do is to give Serbia the presumption of innocence, and to commence talks on a SAA agreement.

As we all know Serbia has always been Europe, and Serbia will always be Europe. Serbia has done everything to show it's committment to Europe, and now it is Europe's turn to show it's committment to Serbia. Many people all over the world are beginning to realize that Europe's claim to want Serbia in the EU is just a big lie, because everyone knows that actions speak louder than words.

«...what happened during WW2 and this time during last war were just more ready to defend them selves of new Jasenovac creation.»

I don't think that the world nations would have accepted this no more than the serbian aggression. Milosevic did not want to negociate because he had already his «plan» and his propaganda made sure to remember to all Serbs, on a daily basis, what they had endured and been through in Jasenovac. I am sure that this conflict could have been avoided but it was not in Milosevic's best interest, and all Serbs know this!

It seem to me Victor that you know nothing about Serbs. U just might overheard something about serbian crimes in the past but u never really learn anything. I might fill sorry for the victims but forgive me to say I feel more for Serbian victims. I don't say that Mr. Karadzic should be free as a bird, on the contrary he should be in Hague already but still the fact that he is still free does not diminish my feelings for the Serbian victims over past decades (many decades before). On the other hand and still don't want to approve or diminish Mr.Karadzics responsibility I think that Serbs living in Croatia or Bosnia before the war have never actually forgoten what happened during WW2 and this time during last war were just more ready to defend them selves of new Jasenovac creation.

«...it insults a whole nation on the back of a guilty few. »

David, could you please tell us all how many 'guilty few' Serbs are involved in the killing 1600 children in Sarajevo by Serbian snipers? Could you tell us how many 'guilty few' have participated in the killing of 8 000 Muslims in Srebrenica? Do you know how many 'guilty few, participated in the rapes of 1000s of Bosnian women?

When you answer this, I couls possibly talked with you about Jasenovacc and other topics!

I sympathise with people like Victor. They have a very two-dimensional view that has been fed to them by negative reporting over the last few years. They then mix this with a few truths and come out with such vast generalisations that it insults a whole nation on the back of a guilty few.

Firstly, when will people like poor Victor realise that when you speak about the “Serbs”, you are also speaking about the 200,000 Muslim Serbs in Belgrade, the thousands of Catholic Serbs in the former Yugoslavia and all other Serbs, Orthodox and otherwise that had and have nothing to do with any crime committed in truth or in thought by others that share the name of SERB!

Secondly, the Serbian Orthodox people have never denied that we have been responsible for some horrific atrocities in the wars of 1991 – 1999. Many of us have tried to set up institutions such as truth commissions to bring the ferocity of acts of violence by all sides in the conflicts into the open but have not found any international willing or support for such programmes as they could be embarrassing to other and not to the “SERBS”.

Thirdly, unknown to people like you, a vast amount of time and money has been spent by the Serbian Authorities in Belgrade in trying to track down Mladic and Karadzic. We are in no doubt that if these two men were already in the Hague Serbia would be much nearer to the entrance of the EU than she is today.

Perhaps you should spend your time monitoring the Drugs, prostitution and cigarette trade that has boomed under the protection of the Mafia that was once called the KLA in Kosovo. Or perhaps you should visit the site of Jasenovac, the death camp of the Croatian Ustashe, for which we have never received an official acknowledgment of guilt for the crimes against our people.

«...it was "in their interest and in the interest of global peace and stability." »

We all know this, except the Serbs. They keep on denying what they have done, they put the fault en others, they treat their criminals like VIP and they accused the victims who testity at the ICTY of lying! The worst, it's all talking and no 'acting' against the Serbs. Sanctions should be taken that forbid all the Serbs, starting with the politicians, to travel outside Serbia. Something has to be done to oblige them to deliver 100s of war crominals to The Hague and, at the same time, to bring to justice all those responsible of crimes and who actually live among their victims! It is a shame. I do not understand why the Serbs do not understand this simple equation: respect for the victims and justice.
