And if I was in Alban Kurti's position, I would be pissed off too and would do anything to get back at Serbia for the unlawful imprisonment, and the ethnic cleansing of my people.
But that's just me.

Ethnic Cleansing:

1981-Kosovo Yugslav Census

Albanians-77%
Serbians-13.5%
Yugoslavs-4.5%
Roma's,Gypsies, Croats-6%

2007-

Kosovo Serbs,Roma's,Gypsies- 3-5%
Kosovo Albanians-95%-97%

Read the facts before you throw words around like ethnic cleansing. Any sane person can see who is being cleansed. This is entirely explained by the rapid birth rates of the Kosovo Albanian families.

Throwing bottles and red paint. Breaking windows is destruction of property and that is suppose to be ok. What dream you people living in. the shooting at Kent state were college students protesting the war and not children get the story right. Peaceful protest are accepted as the rights of people!! not rioting, burning cars, buildings and shooting people.

to all who commented on my statements> the fact is red paint and stones were thrown at the government building, assembly building, bankos and unmik buildings in that order resulting to broken glasses and chaos in the streets. public disturbance and damage to property is the crime here plus no permit was granted to vetevendosje. what is amazing is the law enforcement authorities especially the local police did not act until unmik police did when they arrived ah unmik hq and breached the concrete perimeter wall. there were evident violations but no one was detained. this will make the group even more belligerent knowing in their minds that they seem to be untouchables and have the license to do such kind of violent acts. i hope this clears the matter for you all who may not know what actually happened. demonstrators are lucky here because no water cannons and wooden sticks.

Alban kurti, will his organized protest be peaceful?
Can u tell me why KPS is trying to arrest him because group is planning mass protest? No answer do we have?

Tatiana, vetevendosje is an organization made up of mostly students. The only damage they've caused is throwing red paint at the UN building in Pristina.
How convenient for you to just throw accusations around as if they're facts.
Oh how silly of me, that's what Serbia has been doing for years.

you are not well informed:they just throught paint and tried to get rid of the "walls" that just like you and your state unmik try to put around our liberty!
no one was injured,
and each time ,our rallies will be more powerfull! We dont need violence ,just being in the street is enough to tell you that we will stand up for our right to selfdetermination!

Ahmet...
You can't compare US styled protests and government reactions to the Balkans..

You seem to forget what happened to studen protests during Vietnam years..Children were killed by their own government troops for "peaceful protests"..

What is the status that everybody exept for me seems to know??
Athisarri hasn't officialy released anything. The fact that the UN is another stumbling block tells me that there's an even longer road to travel..

Ahmet, we all know about what kind of "protest" Mr. Agim Ceku is talking here. There are protest in front of White house, but not like ones three years a go (17th of March 2004). And that's everything but democracy, i guess. And, even international community is afraid now of "democratic protests in "Kosovo. So, save that for some other place, cause we all know the situation on the field...

Hermon

We all have to agree that there are hot-blooded people everywhere in the world, and specially in such tensioned situations. Unfortuntly those are the ones that make the noise.
I am sure though that the majority of the Albanians will show maturity as always.

Albin Kurti of Vetvendosje is probably smarter than most of us put together. Him and his movement serve a purpose in the Kosovar society, just like Radicals in Serbia. They maintain a balance. We can't have everyone be left-wing liberals, or crazy radicals. Whatever it may be, Kurti is reasonably suspicious of the inernational community b/c they have decided against the Albanian people in many prior occassions. Still, whatever protest he will hold, the calls for peace and order only show the maturity of the Kosova government and others wishing to see Kosova prosper.

Tatiana,
which government buildings did they 'destroy'. Stop exaggerating things. They threw bottles of paint at the buildings. And, don't say KPS is helpless when dealing with them. KPS & UN Police can deal with them very well. So far they have avoid harsh measures, but now they that independence is coming the police will be harsher towards Vetevendosje.

tatiana stojkovic

pre 17 godina

ahmet i dont have anything against a peaceful protest. thats "democracy". but a violent protest is a demo"crazy". vetevendosje falls under the second type.

Ahmet Isufi

pre 17 godina

Johnson, what you saying is nonsense. If USA does what you say then they have to send military forces every single day of the year in front of White House in DC, because there protest rallies vey day and some days multiple rallies for different causes.
Tatiana, have you have ever herd about democracy that people are free to express their thoughts. I have seen far more severe and dangerous protest in France, Britain, Spain and many other western countries. Big deal.

tatiana stojkovic

pre 17 godina

managing expectations? well i heard that vetevendosje activists are gearing for a bigger showdown because they dont even like the omission of the word independence. last time they destroyed government buildings, practically all the law enforcement authorities be it kfor unmik or kps were helpless in preventing the wave of atrocities. some were detained but for 72 hours max. so they will be out again. it is rumored that leader kurti is untouchable since his parents are unmik. what a shame!!!

Johnson

pre 17 godina

so, tell me in which democratic country this kind of "calls" should be sent out to the people? If justice would be the same for everyone, then strong military forces should be sent to Kosovo to fight against any man who think that violence is solution and way to achieve a goal. But, Europe and USA to not have the same criteria. It's obvious.
