The Macedonian police also burned at least twenty-two houses, sheds, and stores along their route, using gasoline to set many of them aflame. In some cases, police officers robbed civilians of their valuables. At least three men were beaten unconscious by ethnic Macedonian vigilantes in full view of the Macedonian police, and one was shot and wounded as he attempted to flee the beating. Over one hundred men were arrested and taken to police stations in Skopje, where they were subjected to severe beatings. Atulah Qaini, aged thirty-five, was taken away alive from the village by police officers, and his badly beaten and mutilated corpse was later recovered by family members from the city morgue. Another man was beaten so severely that he had to be hospitalized.

This article is not about Serbia. Why don't you guys admit that you hate Albanians because you wan't their land. It is simple. The Macedonians were only trying to emulate the Serbian tactic of 'schorched earth'. The Slavic governments in the Balkans believe that by wiping out entire Albanian villages they will solve the problem of multiethnicity. They never tried to work together with Albanians and accept them as normal citizens.

The future of the Balkans is in peaceful coexistence.You do not have to LOVE your neighbor in order not to fighr with him just be able to TOLERATE his existence.The Albanians seem to have a hard time living peacefully with their Serb,Macedonian and Montenegrin neighbors.I wonder if Greece was not so economically advanced would 500k Albanians be living there?

As an Albanian I can comment, NLA (Ali Ahmeti) tortured and mutilated his/their own ethnic albanians who refused to follow his belief! And he is let free? When will justice be given to the families of the murdered macedonian policeman? We want peace too. Macedonia to the Macedonians, I too am Macedonian even though my decendents are Albanian.

1. The current situation in FYROM proves that the problem in Balkans is not Kosova, Kosova is NOT a special case (like the serbs put it) but part of the albanian territories and alb ethos. Anyway, the Hague is a joke. The Balkans will never be at peace until we are treated equally.

In the 1950s and 60s during the reign of the interior minister Aleksander Rankovic, more than 450.000 Albanians were deported to Turkey, and tens of thousands were tortured. This led to the purification of cities like Shkup (Skopje) and Manastir (Bitola) or Monastery (which YES was christian contrary to anti-alb propaganda) of Albanians.
