Once the new power plant comes on line hopefully the power situation will subside. Yes the power grid needs to be upgrade and modernized. If you don't pay no power. I remember when they had President Rugova's Funeral in Pristina all power was diverted to Pristina to ensure no one of the visiting dignatries would not have experiance the embarrassment of a power outage. KFOR was asked to power the building where Mr Rugova lied in state. KEK said it would provide power, but UNMIK tasked KFOR to provide Generator and ECU's ensure comfort for all who view the body. KEK cannot be counted on if there is not a house cleaning to prevent the corruption then it will never be able to provide power for the country

What are the Kosovo Serbs going to pay their electricity bills with? The KLA/UCK has already stolen everything from the Kosovo Serbs, they have nothing. Honestly, you should think about that before you make such comments.

Sir, in order to be able to understand the KEK-problem properly, you should be able to read Albanian newspapers (as well as Albanians are interested in you issues).

First, the power situation right now is much better. And, if Belgrade wants to pay electricity for some Kosovo citizens thats fine. If, Norway wants to do that, that's also fine.

Albania itself is having an "electricity crisis" and one of the reasons is due to customers not paying bills. This is in Albania and those who aren't paying are Albanians.

When Serbs had control of Kosovo everyone received electricty, whether they paid or not.

One of the recent reports on this:

Albania seeks to import more electricity

“electricity troubles due to poor management, an outdated distribution system and lack of money because of unpaid bills.”

I figured you would chime in on this for 7 year ahmet i have heard every excuse in the book about power. From the foreigners who came to help stole the money meant to fix kek to selling power outside kosovo to make money. before the war and during the war there was no power problem only after the engineers who worked there left then we had the problem so please don't come in to the forum pointing fingers. If NATO was bombing and power never went out and after the serbs left then you had problems then now you should point fingers not at belgrade but at kosovo. Some albanians not paying the bills? Can you sir please tell me why the albanians citizens held protest outside kek last winter because they cut the power to those who did not pay? I don't even know why i made the first comment blame everyone but yourselves. If you clean house in the KEK organization there would not be mass power outages. I will agree with you if you don't pay no power. But Serbia wanted to pay for the Serbs enclaves but UNMIK said no, because they wanted the power to dispersed through KEK, yeah right. Ahmet i want to think that you are intelligent person but to make the comment you made about all the Serbs and some albanians. In a newspaper article in Kosovo they printed all the customers who did not pay there electricity bills this included alot of banks, business and households. If you pay you get power 24hrs not the 5 and 1. If you choose not to pay then you get nothing. I am sure once the status is determined do you think the EU will allow the power problems to continue? No sir.

J.Ham , you sound like its only serbs that are experiencing power reduction. This is Kosova wide problem as fas as electricity, but serb are the only ones that are not paying elctricity bills and some Albanians. If you ask me, I will cut off elctricity to anyobody who does not pay its bills and this goes for all, regardless of their nationality.

That would really boost the morale of the people in the Enclaves. The days of 2hrs on and 6 off will hopefully be over. It is very cold during the winter and it is good for Serbia to step for the people in the enclaves. So once this is sign that means 24 hrs of power not the 5 on 1 off deal!!!
