J.P. You may be impressed, but you shouldn't be if you knew where that money comes from. Everyone knows that Albanians are in charge of illegal activities across Europe. Let me name few, drug-trafficking, Prostitution, human smuggling.

Maybe you should check how Serbs and some honest Albanians live working honestly. It's heartbreaking!!!

I don't know where some of you genlemen get some of your information of Serbia being very prosperous and Kosovo being such an undeveloped area of Ballkans.

I visited Kosovo right after the war and Again this april I visited Serbia and Kosovo.

All the thousands of burned homes after the war have been replaced with wonderful new homes that here in Canada we pay a half million dollars for each such a home. I am very impressed by the way the reconstruction has totally changed the view of Kosovo.

If you constantly talk about how poor Kosovars are, then, Where is the money coming from for a such of construction?

I think Nato sees some prosperity and value in Kosovo, otherwise, they would just leave the trouble to Serbia.

Actually "J/Ham" I originally from Albania proper. Tirana to be precise. But I have lived in NYC since I was 6. Now I am in my mid 20's. So your characterization of me was waaay off mark. My feelings towards people like you are natural response to the unrealistic comments that you make.

Boris,

pre 17 godina

Nenad, to us Serbs Macedonia shouldn't be our concern. I think Mathew makes a quite a good point. Maybe this is the only option of win-win situation that Princip oftenly talk about.

To all of you,

1st - Kosov@ will get independence, like it or not.
2nd - Serbs will live there.
3rd - We will have to do trade with Serbia.
4th - Kosov@ and Serbia should be happy if they ever join EU.
5th - We should continue to make living easier for all that live in Kosov@ and Serbia.
6th - Not love each other, but not even offend.

PEACE

mathew, what are you talking about?
when it comes to albanian cause, we are of one opinion and we dont engage in military conflicts against each other.
And if albania didnt had tosks, geghs, muslim, orthodoks, catolics, atheists it would have been much weaker today and maybe racist or nationalistic or radical. that's why kosovo must not partition, and the serbs should stay, if they go it will be a loss to kosovo.
and albania doesnt want to join the politics of the two countries, just the people, why to complicate things to us and to them.

Nenad

pre 17 godina

Matthew there is a problem with your proposal. In your proposal Macedonia is the loser because they would lose territory to Albania. I don't think they would accept that.

Agim Elshani

j.Ham,
How in the world can you say Kosova is part of Serbia. Kosova is Administered by UN, and Serbia has no saying how Kosova has been ruled for past seven years. Are you living in Mars?

J.Ham

pre 17 godina

No i don't think so Sidi, i am going to assume you are from Kosovo and albanian. You guys want independence so bad but have you look at the big picture? Who would want to invest in a country where there is always power problems,if you want something you must pay double, no jobs, if need something official you must pay for it instead of getting documents that is rightly yours. How can a country survive like that? The power situation, before the war and during the war the power was on correct don't say it was not because i work with people from Pristina and the surrounding areas said it was so don't say it is not true. Once the bombs started falling the power stop no, once the Serbs who ran the plant left then the power problems started and to this day it still has problem because you have managers who brought there degrees from the university and cannot engineer nothing so please before you make the typical comment that i am Serbian and hate albanians and because what i am saying is true and don't want people to read it then you are wrong, i have lived in both places and i have learned that there bad people on both sides of the line and also don't want peace because they are making too much money in illegal activities. So Sidi get your head out of the sand and smell the coffee, before you know it Kosovo will be left behind and Serbia will be moving forward.

Matthew

The sad part is finalizing the status will be instability to the region no matter what the final outcome is. It will either upset the Serbs or the Albanians.

If they really want to offer a carrot to the Serbs I suggest partitioning Kosovo, independence for Republic Srpska, and giving parts of South Serbia (Presevo Valley etc.) to Albania in exchange for parts of Kosovo that have an important historical value to the Serbs. And let Kosovo, South Serbia and parts of Macedonia join with Albania proper rather then make even more crazy countries that don't make sense.

We need to look forward, the Albanians of Kosovo should be allowed to join Albania, otherwise you run the risk of creating a new ethnicity, the Kosovars, which could someday cause tension between the Tosks and Ghegs.

Rod

What's truly sad Sidi, is that you can't seem to accept that other posters have opinions which differ from your own, at least not without resorting to personal attacks, or making ridiculous statements like all of them are "the same person posting under different names."

J.Ham

pre 17 godina

Negativity, Agim that is why Kosovo is still part of Serbia and the way it looks i don't think it will change anytime soon. I think the west figured out what happen in 99 they were the victims of a farce. Now it is 2007 almost and the next bombs that will fall will not be in Serbia. You have those people who live in the balkans who all want freedom but do not know how to run a country much less as to keep the power going. Russia may present a tender to rebuild the power plant but guess what the albanians will want to run it and of course sell the power outside for profit instead of providing for the people. Let us see what happens in the future.

Macedonia and Albania are such a prosperous countries, yeah right,LOL.I read few days ago that Macedonia in 2006. had direct foreign investments of 100 million euros(!!!)while Serbia had about 3 billion euros...i can imagine how much "prosperous" Albania had...so,no thanks,i am glad Serbia is not in the same basket with this "prosperous" club!

Brian

Kosovo as part of Serbia means peace. kosovo independence means never ending independence fights from Albanians in Macedonia, other parts of Serbia, Serbs in Bosnia. Muslims in Serbia and Montengro, Croats in Bosnia. So they must mean Kosovo as part of Serbia means peace.

John

pre 17 godina

You know Sidi...we have a term in the US for negative people like you, but maybe some other time. Yeah, Albania is so prosperous. Reconciliation is not going to happen soon with attitudes like that, and that's sad because the region and the people need that.

Sidi

pre 17 godina

Also at the Riga meeting, Croatia, Albania, and Macedonia were given invitations to join NATO in 2008, while Serbia was barely invited to Partnership for Peace...a program the three countries above had joined since 1994. That's not to say that Serbia is left behind or anything like that. I am sure they are a very prosperous country...NOT
