"...such behavior at a rally is scandalous, because Kosovo status discussions are in progress"

So I take it they're scandalous only because of the Kosovo status discussions, not because of what Mladic has done and what he represents?

Could be worse, at least we aren't naming bridges after him. The Croatian's named bridges after Tudman and celebrate Operation Storm as a national holiday. In addition, Milosevic, who was the worst villain, was handed over, but no one really seems to care about that. That being said, if Mladic really cared about the Serbian people, he would turn himself in.

There's a huge difference these two cases. We didn't know wether he's indicted by Hague or not! When he found out about it, he gave him self up. No protest of whatsoever occured. All Kosovar Albanians charged for war crimes have gone to Hague, I wouldn't forget the fact that most of them until now have proven to be innocent. Our PM's charge has changed yesterday, he's now only charged with breaking the war rules. International community doesn't even call it a war, they simply reffer to it as conflict.
I'm of course keeping my fingers crossed about our ex PM :)

Well my friend, regarding your former PMs trip to the Hague, he had no choice. I’m not so sure what he had done if he had been in hiding – volunteer...? And I’m certainly not a supporter of Ratko Mladic. By they way, you complain at the chanting of the name of an accused war criminal yesterday in Kosovska Mitrovica, didn’t you elect a war crimes suspect to the post of PM? There must have been a crowd there and then chanting his name, right? The thing is, when you look closer to the matter, you have more in common than separates you. Prosperity does not come from singularity but pluralism. You come from the same area; have been living here for a very long time, suppressed by occupants, and at times fighting with each other – and I’m not talking about the Serbs from Serbia, I’m talking about the Serbs from Kosovo living in Kosovo. I suppose that if those living in Serbia would come to Kosovo they would feel as starnge as those Serbs coming from Kosovo coming to Serbia proper does…

Šutanovac did not speak to the international public via B92; I suppose it's a translation from the Serbian version of B92. Unfortunately, then he has to stick to the agenda dominating the upcoming election campaign - the nationalist agenda which SRS are prompting. Everyone tries to be the best little nationalist with some parties trying not to pass the threshold of racism and xenophobia. Those that are following Serbia’s struggle with the international community knows that with no positive input to the Hague Tribunal, no positive outcome. We should of course try to listen to what is not said as well as to what is said, but the wrong interpretation will only worsen relations and the aspirations of Serbia. However, I do agree that maybe one expects too much from a different led government than the present, it will take a long time to change the mental setting and Serbia to get a grip with its past (ooops)…

...and then Kosovo Albanians are blamed for "not living together". I'm an Albanian and I wouldn't really like to live with people who chant a war fugitive. Remember that Kosovo Prime Minister has been accused for war crimes but he went there as a volunteer, wihtout any need to hide or look for him in any case. Our PM went to Hague and not a singe protest was held in Kosovo!

You have to read what Sutanovac did not say, instead of what he said. He said that he expects reports from the Hague to be more positive because the next PM will be from DS. He did not say that he expects Mladic to be arrested because the next PM will be from DS. So he expects The Hague to give good will to his party without feeling the burden of having to deserve this good will. I'm afraid that DS only wants to be in power, and then we'll see the same shameful conduct from the Serbian government as we're seeing now. DS or DSS, they're the same in front of The Hague. Mladic will not be arrested, and Serbia will stay isolated.
