This article is old but.. Wow.. The guy claiming albanians ahve whiter skin?! Serbians darker? Roma people? WTF? How can this even exist as a discussion is perplexing to say the least. Such an aspect as skin color belong in a different age, even if it were true which it isn't. Old slavic people, the Serbs have a bit darker hair then their norhtern Slav counterparts which is understandable, living in the south. Albanians on the other hand, descend fro the Caucasis and as such have a characteristic of a bit yellower skin. But all that is generalisation totally not needed in this day and age unley you're trying some nazi propaganda. Which it surely looks like.

Agnes,

Firstly, why are you even mentioning Hungarians? They have got nothing to do with this discussion, or any other for that matter.

The first paragraph you wrote makes less sense then your second, so i dont really know what your trying to get at.

To Max,

The color and apperance didn't really have to do anything with bombing. It's rather Milosevic's barbaric actions and ignorant people who followed him than, and still follow such leaders today.

It is true though that Albanians and Hungarians are more fair skinned than Romas and Serbians. But in the end, all of them are considered white europeans. So, what's your point with a comment like this?

I have had a look at the TIMES link posted by Mike. Mind-boggling . . .
It's similar an article published by BBC in 1999 during the NATO bombing campaign. The article basically described the physical appearances of the Serbs and albanians. The Serbs were described as being 'thick set', with more of an "arabic appearance" and mentality, whilst the Albanians were said to be "fair skinned with blonde hair", very similar to the English in both appearance and mentality.
The kind of senseless propaganda one would have witnessed in Nazi Germany

Everyone: The link is http://www.time.com/time/ From the main page, scroll down to Photo Essay and you'll find the link: "The Last Albanians: Residents of Presovo Valley in Serbia fight to reclaim what's theirs" This photo essay examines the "plight" of Albanians in Presevo. I'm sure something like this could be equally done about the Serbs of Prizren or Obilic fighting to reclaim what's theirs too. The point here is that it portrays one side as a complete victim and the other as an unexplained aggressor. This is what is given in our Western media. Just for the record, I would be as equally upset if the focus were on a Serb family in Kosovo and a complete blanketting of the Albanians as oppressors was given as well.

Unbelievable. I guess this is what has come down to. It's not about truth or justice, that has absolutely nothing to do with anything with these lobbyists. It's about money. You can ethnically cleanse the entire Serb population of Kosovo, as long as you hire a good lobbyist you're fine. Shame shame shame. No morals, no guilt.

Of course no one mentions that congressman Joseph DioGuardi has is alleged to be linked to mafia heroin dealers who are looking to make a killing once Kosovo becomes their new delivery port. Take a look at http://www.bulgaria-italia.com/fry/docs/bworks.htm for more info.

So my country views diplomacy as a commodity to be traded, bought, and sold on the common market. Sad. If DioGuardi is bent on raising awareness of poor, oppressed Albanians everywhere and anywhere, he must have been part of this little doozy in Time Magazine http://www.time.com/time/photoessays/2006/albania_serbia/

Will their suffering never cease from the big, bad, oriental Serb?

As for the subject of this article, lobbying, I don’t think it is that important at all. Albanian League is just trying to counter some vicious propaganda spread by the pro- Serbian lobbies. Albanian League focuses more on working with individual Congressman, Senators and State department officials. They have done a pretty good job so far thanks to the relationships developed by Joseph DioGuardi over the last decade. PR firms may be able to create a favorable atmosphere in behalf of one side, but their message quickly fades. So, they are good only for countering propaganda or spreading it. I wonder how President Tadic feels about this. Betrayed?

Serbia should rely on Serbian local firms and Serbian diaspora. US PR firms seek only more and more money and are not and never will be reliable.
