Montenegro's country code: MNE

The vehicles used by Montenegrin citizens will be labeled as of September with stickers reading MNE, abbreviation for Montenegro.

within the ISEC (institute for south east european cooperation) we have discussed that issue; we think that as well the "country-code" (car-label), as the "internet-code" should be the same, and it should consist of only TWO letters!, e.g.:

MO (would be the best?),
MT (second best?),
ME (third option),

did the commision check, if "MO" and "MT" are already "occupied"?, and if maybe "ME" could be used also for the car-labels?, (as i know, only "MN" is occupied by mongolia, and "CG" is occupied by congo...),
