Yes Tatiana - Albanians have the gene that codes for impoliteness, the gene that codes for ill-manners and the gene that codes for stubborness. And it seems that the Serbians lack those genes and have 'happy-swimming-pool genes'. This seems to be a fact! How do you call this stand-point??

The US is not pre-judging the outcome? Who would believe this title. The US/EU/Contact Poop has already determined the fate of Kosovo. Now, they must get Mladic and all will be justified for entering the fray in the Balkans. However, we all know they will rue the day that they gave Kosovo to the Albanians, just like they are cleaning up their mess in Afghanistan. The Islamic catch-phrase from Spain to Iraq surely engulfs the Balkans. All I can say is get ready for a prolonged and messy Islamic expansion. Like it or not, my Serbian brothers are being sacrificed. We've seen the Albanian action when they hold power...March 2004 tells it all. If you want to debate 1999, ask the KLA about why the Serb military had to come in. If they had pulled that crap in Texas or California - the US would have responded to them just like they did to David Koresh in Waco. Good luck Europe, because you will unleash a Pandora's Box like never before.

Agim, I wasn't implying that religion and government should be mixed. Rather, the SOC (SPC) is the most visibly represented Serbian body in Kosovo today, and oftentimes provides the only institutional structure for the Serbian minority. In that capacity, I think they should have some say over the fate of their religious sites and churches.

agim> how can independence assure multi-ethnicity? under the UN and KFOR, albanians can do whatever bad things they want to Serbs. How much more if power will be theirs? Ask internationals in kosovo and they agree that albanians are much more impolite, ill-mannered and stubborn than Serbians. This is a fact. A good example these summer is the swimming pools> internationals go to serbian pools but not to albanian pools. Gracanica is an example.

Mike you should not mix religion and govermant. This was the biggest and foremost problem with Serbia because the church dictated and was part of Ballkan wars of 90, starting from Slovenia all way to Kosova.
Sale, I totally agree with you. Kosovar Serbs should decide their own fate and not someone else that lives far away and don't even care for their compatriots.

It is obvious that local Serb community is not being represented to an appropriate level. The problem is that the leaders from Serbia don't even care to hear the voice of Serbs living in Kosovo, for them their political position is more important than interests of Serbs living there. It is about time for them to start thinking what is the intest of the people and how to improve their living conditions and not to bargain for their benefit.

Why does it seem that the Serb minority community leaders are not fully represented at these status talks? If protection of the Serb minority, regardless of the type of final outcome, is a critical factor, why are leaders like Oliver Ivanovic, and even leaders of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo like Bishop Artemije or Father Sava of Decani not asked to take part in these negotiations?
