Mesic would have the uninformed believe that all Croatians respected and admired Tesla. However, Tesla's family home and father's Serbian Orthodox Church in Smiljan, Croatia were ransacked and heavily damaged by Croatian nationalists in WWII and again during Yugoslavia's breakup in the early 90's. I wonder how long the current restoration of his home will remain unscathed.

Well spoken by Stepjan Mesic on behalf of the Croatian government and has done it's part in restoring Nikola Tesla's homeland after Croatian radicals destoyed the monuments in the village of Smiljan during the civil war in the former Yugoslavia. It is more events such as these that will hopefully lead to closer relationships between Serbia and Croatia.

Nikola Tesla was a man of peace and only introduced the concept of the "Death Ray" as a purely defensive measure to protect nations. The Death Ray was introduced to the British Government as well as to Peter II Karadjeordjevic of the Yugoslavia before WWII broke out.

Next steps include:

Restoring the Jasenovac memorial in Croatia, one of the largest concentration camps in the former Yugoslavia which exterminated predominantly Serbs, Jews and Gypsies but also dissenting Croatians who stood up to the fascist Ante Pavelic.

Rebuilding the Economic structure in the Krajina region which remains desolate after the Serb popoluation left in the largest Ethnic cleansing as a result of Operation Storm in 1995.

It's time for other Croatian leaders to step to the plate.

Einstein also "belongs to the whole world", but he was Jewish and everyone knows and acknowledges that. Likewise, Tesla was a Serb, and everyone must know and acknowledge that also.
