After checking this website, I decided to go spend the weekend in Valjevo and explore it...
Some practical information, the trip by bus there takes 2 hours and a two ways ticket costs 560Din. you will find an hotel in downtown Valjevo for 1500Din a night.

About the town itself, it is very beautiful and charming. As soon as I got there, I walked towards Valjevo's downtown, soon I found myself in a walking street, similar to Knez Mihalova in Beograd, but in much simpler way...Shops and Cafes, sandwich places, you will even find a tourist information point on a side street and even though there was not any english brochures or maps, I met people, who actually became friends and welcomed me, in the extraordinary usual Serbian way...I even spent the night in their house, drinking home made Juice, Rackjie and eating home made cheese...

That main street is parallel to a river that crosses downtown and in the other side, you will find the other part of the town, which has some different architecture, quite similar to Zemun, which I believe is kind of Hungarian and Austrian.

On a very beautiful sunday, we headed to the Gradac river. And some point you will cafe's, bars, barbecues, picnics...at the very end our cab could not go further anymore, so we jumped out and walked for a couple of minutes to hit the last bar...Chill out atmosphere, you can bring your own meat and barbecue it in the bar...drinks are cheap and most of all...the bar owner has a couple of horses that you can ride for free...

Valjevo is definitley, one of the places that you should visit, if you are in Serbia :)
