The UN estimates that independence for Kosovo will mean that 70.000 Serbs will leave (and a lot of others nor return). Question for Polt: would the US accept a political "solution" anywhere that involved the evacuation of a few hunderd thousand US citizens?
If no, why does he expect this from Belgrade?

i think belgrade should take this seriously...to me it seems that the agreement on the future of kosovo is reached among big powers such as US..i hope belgrade would come to the same concludion and realy understand the real problem...which is to protect the rights of serbian minority in kosovo...this is the first time an american dimplomat have said that independant for kosovo is one of the solution...or the final one

Dear Mr. Ambassador, your Excellency,
Thank you for the interesting thoughts you sheared with us on the B92 web page. I deeply believe that remarks you presented as the Ambassador of the most distinguished country, have been given in good will and with effort to help Serbia to overcome some of its burdening problems. I would like to use the opportunity to ask you to explain to me what does the broadly used diplomatic term – milestone of post war European diplomacy “borders in Europe cannot be changed” actually mean?
With deepest consideration,
Belgrader
