i agree with mike because a person is innocent unless proven otherwise that according to the rule of law. but it may be that a man is really a murderer but could not be proven guilty due to loopholes in the justice system. what is important is what really the man did. was he or not a killer?

Attention Simo Jovic:
My previous comment was meant for Mr. Jovic, although it applies to anyone that feels General Agim Ceku is a war criminal, which he is NOT. My reasons can be read in post #11 above. And, for anyone who is interested in my ethnicity, NO, I am not an ethnic Albanian!

you people are claiming both your leaders have war experiences. why not ATI give them both guns and BUSH will be glad to see a texas-like draw.

To Tatiana:
It makes no difference what the Serbs think of Agim Ceku or any other Albanian Kosovar leader since the the USA, NATO and the EU as well as the World Court at the Hague have NOT found the Albanian leadership guilty or even indicted them for war crimes. This is very unlike the past and also some of the present Serb leadership in Belgrade. Although, unwisely in retrospect, Nato, vis a vis the USA, continued to negotiate with Milosevic before and during the war in Kosova, even though he was already an indicted war criminal. If Serbia had had a leader that was responsible, sane, and had the interests of the Serb People at heart, perhaps Serbia would not be in the position it is now.

Mr. Harris check the web and you will find Koshtunica dressed in paramilitaru unifrom holding an AK-47 along with other paramilitaries, during the war in Kosova. His hands are dirty

I desagree, becuase top officials/politicians are the ones using ordinary citizens as pawns in for their poltical purposes. For example; Look at Koshtunica or for that matter the ex-LDK President Ibrahim Rugova(deceased) they have lied to its own people. Koshtunica is still continuing with same lies and as far as Rugova thank god is no longer with us.

its a waste of time for such a meeting...and i think problem is not the kosovar lidership its the other way around...its the serbian politicians that have to face the new reality and tell the serbian nation what really is going on with kosovo...

Tatianna, we have to start somewhere. You have to crawl before you can walk. I believe it would be a positive step there are people on both sides who are afraid of change and will stop at nothing to prevent this. Join me and try to encourage those to reach across the divide lines to forge a peace existance for all. Do not listen to those who speak of hate and divide. Those are the main ones who are afraid, we must work hard to achieve a peaceful co existence. No i am not albanian nor serb. I want peace because i have good friends on both sides of the divide.

I am a Albanian from Serbia, i would never allow Kosovo leaders to decide what's best for albanians in Serbia. I think the best solution , let the Serbian's talk about their future, not someone from Belgrade who look at their own interest first.

Does the serbian government have the right not to negotiate with indicted war criminals, just as the US government has reserved that right. In this case the serbs have to refuse to meet with Ceku.

S. Harris

How could Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica possibly wish to deal with one Agim Ceku, a war crimes suspect.
This would be the greatest degradation for the Prime Minister and for Serbia and its Diaspora.
Mr. Ahtisaari should think again on this meeting.
For the Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica this would be a fatal meeting.

this is like climbing mt everest. in order to get to the summit, one should start from below. right now, kosovo citizens themselves could not work among themselves harmoniously. without resolving these inter ethnic issues at the grassroots level, whatever the top officials agree would be meaningless and useless.
