The Russian casualty numbers are from western sources not my opinion. From one western source its 33,000 while another says it’s between 40,000 and 50,000 with about 50,000 wounded. Now both these numbers include the Donbas militias which fought before becoming part of the Russian forces.
In the case of Bakhmut, Wagner lost something like close to 10,000 soldiers while Ukraine lost 90,000. The reason for Wagners casualty numbers is because most were not professional troops but civilians, a lot were inmates from prisons, and they were taught one particular method of fighting and nothing else, plus Prigozhin was an idiot since the Russian command did not want to take Bakhmut at that time because of potential high casualty rates but it was Prigozhin who decided to attack Bakhmut and the Russian military then had to back Wagner.
“…Ukranian officers assessments.? That comes from various Ukrainian Telegram channels where Ukrainian military officers have said that NATO strategist have no idea how to fight a real war and that the Ukrainians know more than they do. You see the last time the US fought a real was during WW2. They have only “fought” small and defenceless countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan Libya etc. That is what gave the US the idea it was the best army in the world. Plus people like US Colonel Douglas McGregor, US Colonel Daniel Davies and Scott Ritter.
