Condolences to all those affected by this inhumane behavior.Commentators like the first one here equating murder with bullying and legal and medical diagnoses from unqualified keyboard apologists are unhelpful. If they have nothing constructive to say best keep quiet.

Some victims of bullying take their own lives while others take lives of the bullies.
The boy is in that age where we have difficulty is deciding if he is old enough and knows enough. I believe that a thirteen year old knows right from wrong and can be held accountable but in this case could it be that he snapped and now can claim temporary insanity?

He was clearly bullied to the point of sheer desperation.

My question is, why didn't anyone act on this bullying sooner? Why was this child left to suffer on his own and nobody was there for him?
Did the parents know and did they bring this up to school authorities?
I remember when my daughter was so bullied that she didn't want to go to school any longer and when I tried to fix the situation the school took the side of the bullies because their parents were bullies themselves and put pressure on the school to dismiss me.

There is so much guilt to be shared here.

First off, sincere condolences for this terrible loss of lives. I was reading the Serbian edition trying to understand more on what happened and why. 1) It happens everywhere in the world, no exceptionalism here. 2) Kosta, the teenager who committed this crime (I don't like definition 'killer boy', 'murderer boy') is also the first victim of this tragedy. The existence of a list proves he was bullied at the point to want his friends dead. 3) Bullism among teenagers is a widespread phenomenon in our schools. 4) Some say parents fault, some say internet fault. Government blames parents since this kid is too young to indict. Government will change the laws so as to punish accordingly other Kostas. 5) I have just one suggestion: we have tons of psychologists that our media uses mostly as pundits for TV. What about any single school having a psycologist on site, whose task is to identify vulnerable kids and bullism tendencies and address them immediately, talking to both teachers and kids parents? Thanks, I am really sorry for what these parents, including Kosta's parents, are going through right now.
