Out of curiosity can you tell me what do you see the advantages of Serbia joining the EU considering the IMF and World Bank have said that the EU will be in a very bad shape this winter and even worse in the winter of 2023?

Vucic is playing to an audience. He declares that Serbia has done everything to be come a member, but no membership. Adopting this stance, he voids the sell outs like Gjilas, Tadic and Jeremic’s ammunition to claim that Serbia is being held back from joining that paradise called the EU.
He and the entire ruling Serbian political elite know that Serbia has no interest in joining the EU at all. Why does he not openly state the Serbia will never join? Apart from the sell outs, why kill the goose that lays the golden egg – while ever the EU gives out money for free, they would be stupid to say no. I would say they were insane if they said no while the cash keeps flowing in. On a personal level I am totally against Serbia joining the EU.
If Serbia had finalised everything required by the EU, even recognition of Kosovo, under current economic conditions they would not become a member until 2060 or later. This goes for all other EU aspirants.

You should be asking Mr. Vucic that very question, as he is the person that is constantly whining, on b92, about how unfair the EU has been in not admitting Serbia to the EU. In fact, Vucic is implying that Serbia has met all the conditions for gaining membership to the EU. Nothing could be further from the truth. Perhaps, that is the reason which causes you to be so incensed.
