Wise words indeed from the Roman Pontiff. The suffering by innocent people, on both sides of the divide, did not happen in a vacuum, or because of a divine act of GOD. It has indeed come about because the hawks in NATO miscalculated that Russia would meekly and humbly accept an openly hostile policy right up to it's front door without reacting to such an act of blatant aggression. Now, as ever, the need to build bridges of wisdom and empathy between nations is great indeed and the Roman Pontiff has commendably tried to do this.
