U.S. General: "Do everything you can for Serbia to join NATO"

The General knows that for Serbia to join the EU, Serbia must first be a member of NATO. This fact has been known by Serbia from when it first applied to be a member of the EU. However, Serbia foolishly thinks that by ignoring this fact her problem would vanish. No such luck, that only happens in fairytales.

Seems to me that anyone can join NATO these days, as long as your policies align with the White House. That is you must hate China, Russia, buy USA oil and gas and have a strong love and affection for lgbt movement. If you encourage your population to experience or experiment with lgbt ideals, you will get a free dinner with the President (That's if he still remembers his name) in the White House.

But LGBT issue is largely about human rights.
But the same time NATO regularly violates human rights and represents the interests of American military-industrial complex.

Sounds like a controversy, isn't it?

The only issue preventing Serbia from joining the EU is that it is resisting joining NATO first, since this is an unwritten prerequisite. Once admitted to the EU, the standard of living of the Serb people would improve dramatically.
