Its a game, nothing more. All opinion polls in Serbia indicate that a majotity of Serbs do not want EU membership. Mr Vucic knows that as well. But he is a clever politician who is playing the game.
By declaring Serbia wants EU membership Serbia gets grants (free money) from the EU. It gets a market to export their products, it gives visa free travel with a Serbian passport, etc.
Of course Mr Vucic knows that a referendum on EU membership in Serbia would lose. He also knows that Serbs will never accept joining nato. But as I said, its just a game for the benefits Serbia gets.

And over 5 billion people live in countries that do not recognise Kosovo compared to about 2.5 billion that do recognise Kosovo.........

Just about everyone knows that Serbia will not be joining the EU.
Its a game, nothing more. All opinion polls in Serbia indicate that a majotity of Serbs do not want EU membership. Mr Vucic knows that as well. But he is a clever politician who is playing the game.
By declaring Serbia wants EU membership Serbia gets grants (free money) from the EU. It gets a market to export their products, it gives visa free travel with a Serbian passport, etc.
Of course Mr Vucic knows that a referendum on EU membership in Serbia would lose. He also knows that Serbs will never accept joining nato. But as I said, its just a game for the benefits Serbia gets.
Do you see what I'm saying???
Politics is a game, nothing more.
