I've also read from Albanians that Kosovo belongs to Albania because of some cr*p about Illyria, etc.

10 years ago, Western leaders were saying the same exact thing. Today, they are using different language and saying that "Serbia and Kosovo must have a dialogue and reach a compromise". This is a very subtle but important change in rhetoric.

There is pressure on Serbia still, but the problem is that there's nothing more the West can do to Serbia if it doesn't allow Kosovo* become a fully-recognized and UN member-state. Your Western sponsors blew their load in 2008. And despite all of their support and resources, the results are unsatisfactory for your sponsors and they want this matter *really* closed.

That means real concessions to Serbia. Kosovo the territory becomes cantonized but stays border-less. Dual sovereignty, where Serbia has full control over Serb-majority municipalities and the pro-Serb Muslim Gorani region. Extra-territorial status for Serbia's monasteries in Prizren, Pec and Decani.

Only way it can work. If not, we'll see how much longer you can last in the vulnerable position of being a partially-recognized pseudo-state with recognitions falling every few months!

Peggy, I wouldn't worry about the overbreeding anymore from the Albos. It was fine and dandy spitting out 13-14 kids when the Yugoslavian government picked up the tab; however, this is long gone and their birth rate is only at 2.3, versus Serbs at 2.1 per household. The irony here is that they're escaping the hell hole they created at a faster pace. They're pretty much self ethnic cleansing.
