Betsy, oh dear. I dont mean to insult you, honestly. However, your opinion is so naive about America. You talk about dictators that the US has confronted....they supported Tito in Yugoslavia. They supported Sadam in the 1980s. As Jommy Carter said recently the USA is the most watlike nation in the history of the world. Google this article, its honest and to the point. Carter says that the US has supported almost every right wing dictatorship at some point or other. And they still uphold S Arabia, one of the most brutal doctatorships for decades. They regularly chop peoples heads off in public squares....for as little as not believing in God....
Americas involvement in Iraq and Libya were oil motivated. Just look at the state of those nations since America gave them "democracy".
I urge you to google John Perkins "Confessions of an Economic Hitman". He was a CIA economic hitman. Its frightening. No matter where the US gets involved there is always something in it for themselves. Its often oil or other natural resources. But sometimes its geopolitics.
Sorry but the US is the worlds troublemaker.

I find it amusing that some love blaming America for everything. Perhaps you should be reminded that without U.S. help throughout history, much of the world would still be living in tyranny, poverty and oppression or simply destroyed, altogether. Do not forget the crimes of totalitarian regimes. To do so makes you a complicit robot. Everyone knows that dictators stick together : Stalin, Mussolini, Tito, Castro, Chavez, Maduro, Putin...and many more. Liberty is never free!

Yes and we know who is really behind this coup.
The U.S government thats who!!!
They have made unrest in every sovereign government who did not play with them and share their wealth.
U.S want control of Venezuelan Oil but must start a coup or spread propaganda to have Maduro removed. They tried with Chavez but he was too smart. Now they are trying with Maduro.
This criminal U.S government must be held accountable.

Premise #1: There was a coup attempt
Premise #2: The coup attempt was organized by the US government
Premise #3: The United States government has done this many other places
Conclusion: The United States government is evil

Premise one might not be true because it seems the election was rigged. If that is the case then Maduro is the one who organized a coup. In that case, premise #3 is irrelevant. And the correct conclusion is: Maduro and his henchmen are evil.

What are you talking about?
Almost all the oil that Venezuela produces goes to USA.

Chavez was not too smart. He was just lucky that oil prices were 130$ per barrel at his time...
All this problems that Venezuela faces today are from Chavez idiotic policies.

This morning there was an interview with some American professor of international law on BBC Radio 5 Live about Venezuela. He spoke of the turmoil and mega inflation in that country. He didnt once bring up how US sanctions and the devastating effects they have had on Venezuela. And whats more amazing is that the host of the programme did not bring up the subject of American sanctions...!!! And they tell us we have a free and honest media. LOL....
