It has to be underscored: together with Czechia and Slovenia, the people in three East Slavonic countries (Russia, Belarus and Ukraine) are among the least religious in Europe if not on the Planet Earth.

The day-to-day role of the RPC is further undermined with the fact, people do not forget it was largely a KGB outlet during the communism.

The role of SPC is completely different. What happens between RPC and Constantinople is for people largely irrelevant.

Pravoslavy is largely tradition, not religion and many who aren't even baptized follow it. But very few actually follow the Church.
