When did serbia declare independence? in 1804 and when they were fully recongnized? in 1817. But even back then they were not fully "independent" serbia was still a tribute state to the ottomans until 1878, the year serbia became fully independent and not some vassal state anymore. Kosova is going through the same thing. And that can´t be stopped. The serbs are doing the same thing as the ottomans did to them. The oppressor will never win no matter what.
