Peggy,

"This is not a matter for any government to decide, especially a foreign government whole leader isn't even Orthodox.
How can Trump or the state department make any difference to what happens to any church? This can only be an opinion of a private person because they don't get a vote."

I agree that the US doesn't have a vote, so there is a lot of exaggeration happening here. American influence is blown out of proportion.

But the rhetoric goes like this: exaggerate American influence to make them look like bad guys, then site an instance when American influence isn't as strong as they were just saying and all of a sudden America is a declining power. 90% of sj's arguments disappear without first exaggerating American influence.

"Just ask the victims of US satanism in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Yugoslavia, Yemen, Lybia, Syria, Central and South America, Ukraine, Georgia, and other corners of this world."

You can name countries/regions all you want. And you can add "Just ask the victims of US satanism." But the two parts of the sentence need to be connected to each other, and to reality. I agree that American military involvement in Asia has been very undesirable in many respects. But tossing lots of countries into the mix shows a serious lack of nuance. For example, what part of American support for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen is morally problematic?

Principal,

"Ukrainian state and USA politicians are acting like communist Tito in creating schism in Orthodox faith to bring about its demise."

The United States government doesn't care about Orthodoxy. It will give moral support to Orthodox Ukrainians because government policy is that people should choose what they want to be. And, in its most sneaky form, it might be an attempt to couterbalance Russian influence. If the United States government was 100% opposed to Russia, it would have stationed Marines in Crimea so that Russia's "little green guys" wouldn't have taken it from Ukraine.

"The US, as usual, playing dangerous games of division while the US itself is rotting within. What is happening in Ukraine is also happening in Montenegro."

Actually it is fundamentally opposed to the expansion of Russia because it doesn't want to see the return of the USSR.

"The sanctions against Russia, the trade war with China, these are all signs of weakness and desperation as the US loses international influence."

Actually it's mostly Trump's policies.

You, like sj, take the facts that happen and then push them through your extremely anti-US filter. The result is an extremely distorted view of the world.

I didn't know US has keys of hell to open them.

Many critics of Christianity say religion should be separate from state, equally then as a critique of today's politics the state should be separate from religious matters. Sadly its obvious (U)states are meddling in influencing Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople at a huge cost of the churches independence and affecting the wider Orthodoxy.

Ukrainian state and USA politicians are acting like communist Tito in creating schism in Orthodox faith to bring about its demise.
