"America is UK's extended arm"

Many moves made by the UK are motivated by London's dissatisfaction with Serbia moving closer to Russia, says foreign policy commentator Bosko Jaksic.

"America is UK's extended arm". I think it's more of a extended finger especially for Serbia and Orthodoxy in general go figure. Then again nothing is going good for Anglo-Saxons they need some one to feel superior to a those inferiority complexes the good old days.

Not true America is not an extended arm of London. The dog wages the tail not the other way around. The UK does not have the military power to fight off an angry granny and without that its diplomats would only expel hot air with no muscle to back them up.

When Gordon Brown was PM and during the Iraqi invasion UK troops were in Basra and he wanted to withdraw UK troops, George W Bush came to London and he told Brown if they did that the US would withdraw all their investments out of the UK and it would rate less than Albania.

Now does that sound like the UK is in the driver's seat here? I dont think so.

I do agree with the first part of your posting that the US is not the extended arm of the UK which of course has lost most its voice on world affairs as a result of its declining military power. However, when it comes to investment the UK not only comes top on direct investments to US but it is also one of the largest holders of US government debt.
