The first couple of paragraphs made me realize that this is a bunch of blame Russia propaganda crap. Russia is doing nothing in the Balkans. Russia has no capability to influence anything in the Balkans. It makes sense that we are seeing this garbage being published now, as the current political crisis in Italy, and the wider economic meltdown it will create, will spur the EU to look for and generate a crisis somewhere, probably the Balkans or the Baltic’s. I suspect the next crisis will involve efforts to destroy the Srpska Republic, in order to provoke Russia. The US also wants to get back at them for making them look like fools in Syria. The west keeps telling you how powerful it is but in fact it’s not, since the money is now in the east. The death knell for the west as an economic powerhouse occurred in 2008 after the GFC. The flight of capital to the east took place soon after that catastrophe.

I always laugh at people who claim that the west has Russia in an economic death grip and ask how? I have yet to get a sensible reply. They just paraphrase what they hear or read in the media but have no clues what it means.

If it came to a situation Russia could switch off the energy tap and the EU goes into a downward economic spiral so quickly it would make the Great Depression look like child’s play. The Russians like the Chinese play a bigger game.

It is the Serbs who want to keep the Dayton Agreement while the west aka US wants to change it or get rid of it all together because it does not suit them and they would love to remove Dodik, but you see Russia now guarantees RS security and they can’t do a thing.

I think its time to read up on NATO’s capability and even Stoltenberg is worried since it would be over run by Russian troops in days. Although NATO does serve excellent wines with their dinners.

Any sheenanigons on Russia's part to interfere with the entity call RS would cause Serbia to be blamed for it by the Eu. We all know the EU holds the fate of Serbia in her palm.

A western media oversight, Dodik was in St Petersburg last week for an economic forum and Putin gave a speech where he guaranteed Republika Srpska’s security. Funny how that was never reported LOL.

Sir/Madam,
The West has Russia in an economic death grip, therefor, Putin would be foolish to stick out his neck for rump Serbia, a country who is on her way to being a failed state. Furthermore, NATO garauntees to uphold the Dayton Agreement. Any sheenanigons on Russia's part to interfere with the entity call RS would cause Serbia to be blamed for it by the Eu. We all know the EU holds the fate of Serbia in her palm.

The Turks cannot be trusted but in the current climate, Putin and Erdogan are on good terms, meaning good for the Bosnian Serbs and Muslims but not so good for Croats. After the Croats emptied Croatia of Serbs, I have absolutely no problem with BiH being emptied of Croats. A significant number are leaving and have left as it is. Let it continue with the possibility of Muslims and Serbs going their own way or BiH joining entirely with Serbia.

The author of the WP piece Frida Ghitis is deliberately lying by omission.

"Nationalist politicians are openly questioning the Dayton framework".

This is not true.

It is precisely the Bosnian Serbs who refuse to drop the Dayton Agreement while it is Brussels & the US that are demanding it be revised/reformed practically out of existence. Brussels itself asks this as a condition of Bosnia joining the EU.

Remember that it was Viceroy Paddy Ashdown who fired a lot of Bosnian Serbs from their administration positions because they refused his orders to undermine Dayton only for a later Viceroy to reinstate them.

Ghitis mentions none of this. Threats to secede have come about precisely because of Brussels and Washington's demands to kill Dayton.

Bringing back an envoy a la Ashdown is a massive step backwards and will only create much more hostility.

Bosnian Serbs should most definitely have the right to join Serbia, just as Croats have the right to join Croatia. Where is the big secret that Muslim Bosnia is no friend to other Bosnians? Calling Erdogan "sultan", chanting "allahu akbar" is nothing new. The Muslims have sought to Islamisize all from the beginning. Wake up world and stop forcing this form of jihad all across Europe!

No panic. The highest tensions are inside each ethnic groups, not between them. Look at Serbs protesting in Banja Luka against their fellow Serbs, and earlier this year Bosniaks and Croats protesting against their government. Of course politicians are blaming each other, because they want to hide their own lack of competence.

What a surprise Dodik is the culprit for Bosnia falling apart.

However, the US is in no position, financially or militarily, to carry out much while the EU is even weaker. The real protagonist is the US. As far a diplomatic action is concerned, well that’s all hot air if you cant back it up with punitive actions and they can’t.

However, I’d like to convey part of an interview this morning with an Australian senator, Jim Molan, a former General in the Australian army who turned to politics; he talked about US power in the world today.

He has repeated his statement that Australia needs to stand on its own feet because the US is no longer a world power like in the 1990s and it will not return to that position. He continued, that Australia must remain neutral where China is involved because if push comes to shove the “US cannot come to our aid. Its financially position makes it impossible to continue on the world stage at that level”.

A western media oversight, Dodik was in St Petersburg last week for an economic forum and Putin gave a speech where he guaranteed Republika Srpska’s security. Funny how that was never reported LOL.
