Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin as "common language"

From the point of view of linguistics, there is no doubt whatsoever that Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin represent "a common language."

That's according to Serbia, which is certainly entitled to its opinion. However, according to Montenegro, they are all variants of the Montenegrin language and according to Croatia, they are all variants of the Croatian language and so on...

Honcho aka Ataman it is very easy to tell us Croatians and Serb's apart linguistically.

Yes, the alphabet soup made for kids looks very different in Croatia.
In Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine it is almost the same.

I am old enough to eat both.

Amazing how some people here try to make the original croatian or serbian. It has the same origin and is neither this nor that. It shows that the biggest difference is just the religion.

With good ear we can tell, someone is from which region even if Serbo-Croatian language is probably understandable to like 60% for us. The opposite is also true.

Interestingly, Macedonian / Bulgarian is far easier for us than either Serb or Croatian, there the mutual understanding is probably above 75%.
(Honcho, 11 May 2018 18:59) Honcho aka Ataman it is very easy to tell us Croatians and Serb's apart linguistically. Serbs speak winy nasally through their nose cavity more. >>> Psst the word for tent in Croat is sator.
(sj, 11 May 2018 18:35)

Psst, the word for "tent" in Hungarian is "sátor" and in Russian "шатёр" ;-)

And in one of the above languages the word for "carrot" is "sárgarépa".

The Serbian version ("шаргарепа") does not make any sense in any language other than that.

Which means...

"Sárga" = "yellow"
"Répa" = "репа" in Russian.

However, Russians never call it that way... its' just "морковь".

"Репа" for us is quite bigger and never yellowish or red.

For Hungarians (and that's what Serbs/Croats obviously took) that thingy is literally "yellow and smaller version of that big white Russian репа"

And "sárga" = "yellow" is (multi) millenia old, common root with "sár" (=dirt).
Maybe related to "sig" in ancient Mezopotamia. Maybe.

Lenny, if you were any dumber you would be classified a cretin.

According to Croats you invented it all. Serbs did not speak a language until they arrived in the Balkans then adopted “Croatian” Lol. Others claim that Croats ruled Poland before moving to the Balkans. But what is humorous after WW1 Croats sought permission to use the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet because they did not have one. Just for your information all European languages stem from Indo-European and so does Persian.

Since the German word for sugar is zucker which is a derivative from the Indo-European language, you might tell us what you Ustashi call sugar?

Psst the word for tent in Croat is sator.

The language is 100% the same but there are differences even within Serbia how they pronounce. In a nutshell, Serbian way to pronounce more resembling Ukrainian but Croatian way is more resembling Russian.

Not that I'm an expert here but we have the old Serbian language and the current Serbian language, which was reformed by Vuk Karadžić, a Serb. So if it was a Serb who created the current Serbian language and the other languages are almost identical then hmmm, it could have only originated from Serbian. That's probably why Croatia decided to change some words during the 90s as if it was originally Croatian then there would be no need to change anything.

So there you have it...

Seeing has Serbia is the OLDEST nation speaking this “common” language, it’s obvious to anyone above 1st grade intelligence that Serbian is the ONLY real language. And it’s also obvious why THEY created all these new languages from Serbian as the Serbs were demonized by the west because they didn’t want to sell their countries assets to the west during its post Soviet Union purge of all “non-western puppet” governments.

It’s called DIVIVE & CONQUER. Nothing new in their playbook.

Heck, they literally wrote the constitutions, laws and picked the flags for Bosnia & Kosovo. At least the Croats already had one of their own. You can’t make this stuff up! Their entire identity was literally fabricated by foreign powers just to spite Serbia and divide the region and keep it weak and dependent on them as much as possible.

Since the German word for sugar is zucker which is a derivative from the Indo-European language, you might tell us what you Ustashi call sugar?

Psst the word for tent in Croat is sator.

Ok just out of curiosity and not trying to flame anyone Serb or Croat:
Do you guys just speak different dialects or is it just the same clear language for you all? For example there is a different dialect between north and south Albanians, we do speak same language yes but the dialect sometimes is makes it a lil hard to get the meaning at once but it is clearly same base of language. Is that the same for you too or the languange is the same in all the areas. Thnx

What I like is, that abroad even in the diaspora they often call it yugoslavian, or they literaly say 'I speak south (yugo)'
It is definetly one language, never mind how people call it.

(Zoran, 11 May 2018 11:27) Duh, they are all variants of the Serbian language because all of the supposed nations mentioned are in fact Serbs. Most of them know that too.
(Ari Gold, 11 May 2018 15:01) The logic of Serb's and their mostly made up pretentious history is total craziness. No we Croatians changed it to the original we don't speak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijM9WOymYuE or Turk words. Serbs tried to force everyone in Ex Serboslavia to follow their nonsense. What is a "Serb" anyway only 19% of you have Slavic geans Haplogroup R1a. Croatians are Haplogroup I http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OfLZg3AnzvY/UKlpGTXkXAI/AAAAAAAAABs/zXrBh_TALP0/s1600/Haplogroup_I.png the original and have the highest percentages in all of Europe.

Amazing how some people here try to make the original croatian or serbian. It has the same origin and is neither this nor that. It shows that the biggest difference is just the religion.

"Sárga" = "yellow"
"Répa" = "репа" in Russian.

Maybe.

icj1 continues dreaming about imaginary opinions. The reality is most native speakers consider the language Serbian:

The language is 100% the same but there are differences even within Serbia how they pronounce. In a nutshell, Serbian way to pronounce more resembling Ukrainian but Croatian way is more resembling Russian.
