Paris wants Moscow to "use its influence" to end Syria war

Translation: Paris has been asked by the USA to raise the white flag.

And everybody else wishes that Paris didn't throw gas on the fire when things first started in Syria!

The "war" in Syria will end when Putin says it will end, and not a minute before!
Get used to this, it's here to stay!

Your comment is a bit extreme. To suggest that everything is dependent on Putin's will, is absolutely false. SJs narrative of the drastic waning of American influence is largely his personal myth based on feelings rather than facts. We need more balance in the comment section, greater historical consciousness. These days I think Americans are less interested in trying to make a positive difference overseas and more focused on domestic issues. So I think the US military will be less active in the Middle East or the Balkans. It really has little to do with Putin.
