By the time Serbia joins the EU Romania will have adopted the Euro and will be a member of the Schengen Area.
Moreover, Romania will hold the Presidency of the European Union from January to June 2019.
Long live the European Union!!

You can add Greece to the list of countries that were admitted too quickly. Corruption within a country, whilst never a good thing, often has little impact on other countries. An unsustainable economic model can very quickly affect those around you as has been discovered at great cost.

I disagree with you.Greece shouldn’t have applied for membership at all. Back in 1981 Greece was a sovereign nation with a low debt to GDP ratio (only 46%)whereas 35 years later we’re a German protectorate with the highestdebt in Europe.
I don't know if you've noticed, but there are Millions of people all over Europe who HATE the EU and everything it stands for and they are all being kept in their place by a couple of thousand very rich(Soros like) and very corrupt politicians who quite like things as they are just now. The EU is nothing more than a playground for overpaid politicians who are whoring for their new very well paid jobs after politics and are ruining countries because they simply are ill equipped to think long term and to think of the needs of the many instead of the bloated few.No wonder that all Balkan clowns want to join the gravy train before it goes off the rails.

People seem have forgotten that another key principle to be implemented by countries wanting to join the EU is protection of their minorities, another 'rule' Brussels ignored at will and allowed Croatia to join despite its largest ethnic cleansing in Europe since World War II, with the full support & help of Europe itself (and the US. The USN flew SEAD missions in support of the Croat campaign).
So, it's never been just about borders. There's simply no way you can dice it that a number of current EU members could have joined if the EU had stuck meaningfully to their own rules. Wood for the trees and all that.

If you stuck to the original criteria for joining the EU there would only be 5 or 6 countries. There are more than just the Balkan countries. In total 18 current EU members are a drain on resources. They take out more than they put in and the number actually contributing is to decrease by 1.
The west has bigger eyes than their stomachs and now are paying the price.

This has nothing to do with Bulgaria or Romania. It simply has to do with economics. The EU took in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia in haste. None of these countries should have joined because border issues were not resolved between the former Yugo republics while corruption was, and still is, rampant in Bulgaria and Romania.
Today its all about money. The EU cannot sustain an additional 3 countries joining because Brussels does not have the funds to fulfill its part of the agreement. The EU economy is poor, not improving and quantitative easing is continuing with no end in sight.
That's why Junker came out with this.

Here's a song for Juncker:
Row, row, row your boat
Gently up your creek,
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
You're drunk throughout the week!
He'll be gone in a year or two. Maybe the EC ministers can find someone who hasn't spent his life giving massive tax breaks to big companies? It's moronic choices like him that contribute to euro scepticism. Quick, blame The Russians!

EU Dude
You are right about him being a cause of Euroscepticism.
He was probably a significant factor in helping turn the Brexit vote against the EU.
Still, we’ve seen a bit more of the attitude from Barnier and Tusk (although without the booze inducing stupidities).
I am surprised anyone wants to join the EU. It is a Honey trap.

Drunker Junker...

Enlargement fatigue? Sounds like something he has after a long lunch.
Serbia is the best thing that has happened to you. We make you appear as if people are desperate to join. We aren’t.
Not to mention, Serbia is a huge asset to Europe on many different levels. If they are too stupid to see that, that’s their problem.

My Dear Serbian Brothers and Sisters, who you permit to come to Srbija with lies and hate ! Is it not enough the lesson Hitler teach you during the last century, what good ever came to the Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Europe from the Roman Catholic Empire ? The only hope and future survival of the Serbian people is along side Dear Mother Russia ! Why be slaves when we can live with Liberty and Peace together with Dear Mother Russia. So the Serbian population shrinking in the Balkans, I am sure there are many Russian people who from the colder Siberian regions would LOVE to migrate and enjoy that Juszni Vihor of the Balkans !!!
