No, Albania no, but certainly Kosovo could take all of Serbia. I say that it is much better that it is Kosovo Albania, while Serbia of Serbia. Many EU Member States complain about the EU, while Russia Unity, has the same value but without problems. The EU has yet to reach the milestone that has already reached Russia. But perhaps for your fault, you could work for the EU, for free. A talent like me .... you are crazy, answer!

Ataman.
Thank you for coming back on this.Brexit was indeed the first successful strike by populism in Europe against the corrupt political elites who sold a lie to their people back in 1975 that they were joining an economic area –nothing more nothing less. All UK political parties told the electorate the UK was the safest option. However, globalization left large tracts of poor industrial areas in the North and the Midlands with no visible future which voted leave whereas rich London voted in.
Personally when someone talks to me about commissions and commissars he reminds me of the Soviet Union and this how I conceive the EU.They are both the same but they differ in their methods. The old Stalinists used to send the tanks to crash any dissent whereas the EU Bureaucrats use the banks to suffocate any country that try to raise its voice. The EU is nothing but a playground for conmen, failed politicians and thieves. You can see why the W Balkan clowns can’t wait to join the gravy train before it goes off the rails for good
Furtermore,I would never support an entity which is supported by the neo-liberal fascist G Soros who is very proud of his efforts to destroy Yugoslavia “Building Open Society In W.Balkans”.

That's interesting. Not a fan of the EU but it's the least of the evils in this world.I am with Michael on that one but I'd like you to give us your reasons as to why you think Brexit was a huge mistake.
(Leonidas, 11 February 2018 12:33)

Leonidas,

BREXIT was largely a populistic move. In general, I do not favor desintegration because it destroys structures already set up.

Indeed, the "benefit" of EU is that so far there is nothing better (yet).

It is full of idiotic things - but BREXIT won't solve anything. Just the opposite. As a result of the upcoming negotiations UK will land up with everything bad they have - but have no ability to let it's voice heard.

And about immigration. Let's see how they will fare without workforce from Poland, Hungary, Baltic republics. Maybe import more from Pakistan, inshallah?

When last time a Polish or Ukrainian gastarbajter was involved in a terrorist act?

I went to both Albania and Kosovo in 2015. To prove this was not a wild story told by a couple of old people losing it, when I went to Berlin to visit old friends I asked them about it.

The reply was hotels in resorts were safe and so were any carparks in that area, but never pull over somewhere on a road to sleep and never deviate from a main road to go off track. Travel is safe if on an organised tour otherwise avoid it.

You will find they are promoting tours and any foreigner that lives there is on the coast where the resorts are located. Albania is part of NATO and supports the west so what do you think they are going to say? It’s a crap hole don’t go there?

In total I have been to about 92 countries, so I think I have travelled a little more than you.

It is not 1990s anymore and the country though not perfect is much better.
All the serious travel sites recommend to go to Albania and in some of them Albania is in top 10 of must visit countries.
If not go travel the country and spent some days vacationing there.
Travel opens your mind and it looks like you haven’t travel outside Australia or wherever u live.

Mark - assuming you are for real and now seriously, without jokes.
Why so many Albanians think, the world rotates around them?

It happens with me quite often that I meet someone at a meeting where many guests are present. We keep talking for a while, than it turns out, my conversation partner is from former USSR (like Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, etc) or from Hungary.

Than we happily switch from English or German to Russian or Hungarian.

With Albanians I will know within few seconds from them, they are from Albania or Kosovo and how great that place is.

My kids in different gaming forums observed the same: "you will notice Albanian immediately or never".

By "never" they mean that (very) few won't tell that until you ask directly.

As I look at the list of EU member states I can easily identify 9 who are Serbia’s mortal enemies: Germany, Austria, Hungary, UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria and Croatia.
(Michael Thomas, 9 February 2018 15:55)

Very simplified and I completely disagree regarding France (unofficially), Hungary (half-officially), Belgium (they don't even know where Serbia is) and Netherlands (everyone gets a "Dutch Treatment" there, not only Serbs).

Bulgaria is a mixed thing. But they are ruled by Bulgarian (see Ukrainian) mafia.
It's like saying, Ukraina is the worst enemy of Russia.

Yes, except the millions of mixed families. But yes, Ukrainian mafia is a mortal enemy of Russian and Bulgarian one is the mortal enemy of both.

---

If Albania, Moslem Bosnia, and FYROM are added, that will make 12 enemies of Serbia in the EU.
(Michael Thomas, 9 February 2018 15:55)

No contest about Albania, Bosnia and FYROM is a question. Of course, the official Sarajevo and Skopje, yes.

---

Try as I might, I can’t find more than 4 EU states which can be considered friendly to Serbia: Cyprus, Greece, Czech Republic and Spain.
(Michael Thomas, 9 February 2018 15:55)

Poland? Slovakia? To a large degree Romania?

Michael Thomas why Bulgaria is enemy of Serbia ?
(adrian_bucharest, 10 February 2018 11:43)

My opinion. Bulgaria (as mafia organization) is a major enemy of Serbia, FYROM, Ukraina and Russia. Because Bulgarian mafia is so much like the mafia in these above.
And they are at war. The worst is the Russian-Ukrainian relationship because that mafia does disagree on all points. Bulgarian mafia completely controls Bulgaria.

A large part of it are the than-jobless heavy sports people, same about actually all, even the Hungarian mafia. Look at Kubatov-gang for instance.

Talking about Ukraine being enemy of Bulgaria, Russia or Hungary is pretty much a nonsense. But as far as Ukraine, I do not see the Hungarian Kubatov-gang (notice the Azeri family name!) being a great friend of their Serbian colleagues or the Klitschko-gang in Ukraine.

Steer clear of them... and it's OK.

I talked even with non-gang-organized black-red Ukrainians. They were just protesting against corruption, not against RU.

As for private people... I have yet to see Macedonians or Bulgarians who are hostile to Russians. None.

Once you approach the mafia - you are on your own, none is your friend. Police included.

Well what bothers me more than this stupid EU press articles is not the date or which state will join EU first. Its the fact that we leave in this god forgoten area called Balcan and we all are lights away far from EU perspective or development. Speaking of Albanian as someone living in there we are probably in the worst state compare with other neighbours, maybe even with RK that has even more problems. That comes from many reasons such us worst communism past, less and less develpment in that area and more and more corruption in the so called democracy one. Albania will never join EU with the actual mentality its politicians have or even the society in its majority has too. Some areas are still medieval mentality, some are growing rich to fast with corruption and some are growing poor more and more. State isnt able anymore build or care for a "middle class" citizien which is the main cell of a developed democratic state sociate.
That said even IF the EU decides to give us membership in a near future, I hope it doesnt happen when we're still unprepared and in the actual state. Sometimes is better to be 1st in a lower league and work hard to go on higher one rather than joining the top league and be 2nd class citizien.

Have you been in Albania?
It is not 1990s anymore and the country though not perfect is much better.
All the serious travel sites recommend to go to Albania and in some of them Albania is in top 10 of must visit countries.
If not go travel the country and spent some days vacationing there.
Travel opens your mind and it looks like you haven’t travel outside Australia or wherever u live.

Who ever said this, from your mouth to God's ears.

However, who wants to have a nations of goat herders and gangsters. When I travelled through Europe in 2015 I came across a German couple in Uzice, Serbia, who were initially keen to drive from Frankfurt down to through Montenegro and across to Greece. They approached their local motoring association about their plan. They were advised not to travel through Albania because it was dangerous. If they persisted then to fill their petrol tank in Montenegro and not to until the Greek border, but if they had to sleep they were to stay in one of the resorts or if sleeping in the car at one of the resorts’ car parks.

They were told if they stayed overnight on the side of the road they or their car would never be seen again.

AKA it’s another BS story Lol.

As I look at the list of EU member states I can easily identify 9 who are Serbia’s mortal enemies: Germany, Austria, Hungary, UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria and Croatia. If Albania, Moslem Bosnia, and FYROM are added, that will make 12 enemies of Serbia in the EU.
Try as I might, I can’t find more than 4 EU states which can be considered friendly to Serbia: Cyprus, Greece, Czech Republic and Spain.
What do Serbia’s leaders think will happen if they put Serbia at the mercy of these 12 cutthroat nations?
I live in the UK and voted to leave the EU. I did so for a number of reasons, but at no time did I ever fear other EU states. If I was living in Serbia I would fear the hateful-12 and I would buy a gun and prepare for the next invasion. I would never agree to join their club.
