Good to hear 95% of the population get along. But the real reason the NATO base won't go away anytime soon is that it has a strategic position there. Europe is really unstable right now and things might blow up fast. Some people even say the whole reason behind the Kosovo war was to place that army base there. Of course it won't go away.

How about establishing a Russian military base in Kosovo to protect the interest of Serbian people still living, surviving and suffering there on their ancient home lands ???

Russia did establish a military base in Kosovo thanks to Yeltsin, but when Czar Vlade took over he decided that he did not care about the interest of Serbian people still living, surviving and suffering there on their ancient home lands and so he withdrew the Russian soldiers from Kosovo.

I know my unit will be going back to Kosova/o for another rotation sometime in the middle of this year. Unlike what I've seen written on B92, Albanians and Serbs seem to get along rather well, as long as either side does not have members of their group who have committed war crimes present in Kosova/o. One of my friends from my unit is married to a Serb girl from Kosova/o. Her family doesn't seem to have a problem with Albanians in general. As a matter of fact, her family has many Albanian friends, some of whom were at the wedding of their daughter and my buddy.

Thank you for your service!!! And, I'm glad it wasn't your friends wedding where the Albanians massacred an entire Serbian wedding party. I'll give you this, I believe there is a small percentage of good ones, however, the bad ones are off the charts cowardly terrorists. I read an article published in 2006 that stated KFOR was having major issues with threats and nonconforming to the agreement from former KLA members. This was published by Western Media so I'm not being biased and I'm assuming it is true. Do you know if this is true?
