Actually Croatia was bombed from 6th april, airfield and surroundings in front of Zagreb, there were also other cities dont recall now which, Split, Šibenik and Knin were attacked by Italy, probably I missed others. Belgrade was attacked because it was the capital of Yugoslavian monarchy from which other nominal states were governed, so Nazis took this under their governance. Nedić was in charge for Serbia proper, chetniks didn't create much problems for Germans, monarchial government fled to London, Macek refused but sent Croatian ban Subasic instead, he was arrested and Pavelić from Italy was installed as Nedić. Macek ended up in concentration camp for 5-6 months, came out in worse condition than Lindsey Lohan, Germans and Italians held together up to 200 000 soldiers in Croatian territory in changeable proportions over the years. In Serbia there was no significant German army except police etc.

What's wrong tm, is the truth too hard to take? In your above comment you state that non one except Mussolini and Hitler wanted these death squads. Croatians were very willing participants in this killing orgy. Your catholic cardinal Stepinac even sanctioned this blood bath and forcible conversions. 700,000+ Serbs weren't slaughtered in the most barbaric ways because nobody wanted these death squads. And today's Croatians like yourself, Dwight, icj1 and others attempt to minimize these crimes in hopes that the unknowing reader will believe your revisionist claims. Not hardly.

So, revisionism is most notorious factography that territory of modern day Croatia and BiH was divided into OCCUPATIONAL ZONES of Italy and Germany? But here one can read that Croatia was not occupied but "independent", which is - a revisionist claim. And you sir, mr. njegos, fit into a description of something with 5 letters. From mt (another revisionist): "...Actually Croatia was bombed from 6th april..."
Go back and read the question mt, "How many Nazi bombs fell on Zagreb?" Allow me to answer before you burst the one brain cell you have, ZERO. That's because the Croats were part of the Axis and as such, their most willing butchers, as was evidenced at Jasenovac among other places in the NDH during WWII. The French have a saying for Croats: They are brave people not because they are fearless, but rather because they have no shame. You fit the description perfectly.

Let see if it sinks in, but I doubt it. Serbia was a country before joining Yugoslavia, but after it was only a republic of that country.
The Germans took occupation of Serbia. Now listen to this very carefully. Serbia nor Serbs declared it to be judenfrei. The Germans were in charge and they did what they wanted. There were many decrees made in Holland, Belgium, France etc during the occupation relating to Jews or Roma too.
“Serbia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia; and (ii) the republic of Serbia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII. Those exact criteria that you came up with apply to Croatia, too.”
Wrong. Do you ever get anything right? Or do you just blab on to hear yourself talk?
Croatia WAS NEVER OCCUPIED BY GERMANY. It ran its own administration unimpeded, but Serbia was occupied. What school did you go to? Albanian goat herding high?

May I point also to common event in all Nazi conquered countries that German minority or Volksdeutsche usually were used to perform infiltration through open support for German imperialism. In old Yugoslavia their number was around half of million, half of this in northern Croatian parts, likewise in Serbia (Zargeb - Slavonia, Belgrade - Vojvodina). They had special privileged status above Croats and Serbs in new administrations. They commonly viewed their places in Croatia and Serbia as part of German territory, like Bavaria or similar. It is very erroneus to use Nazi propaganda images of "support" in daily politics against each other.

If your logic is followed, the territory known as Serbia also welcomed the Nazis with open arms and partnered with them to rid their territory of all Jews, making Serbia the first country in the Balkans to be declared judenfrei.
But if your Serb-hating logic is ignored and if normal logic is applied, just because some Serbs and some Croats welcomed the Nazis with open arms and partnered with them, that does not make Serbia and Croatia Nazi collaborators. Your logic is deeply offensive to the memory of the tens of thousands of Serbs and Croats who lost their lives under Nazi occupation.

The difference between NDH and Serbia during the 1940s is that Croatia was a willing participant while Serbia was an occupied region and the Germans could do whatever they wished. Milan Nedic was head of the constabulary, but German military documents show they ignored him. Yes, there were some who cooperated with the Germans, but overall Serbs were against the occupiers unlike NDH and their Catholic brothers in Ukraine. Both welcomed the Germans with open arms and both committed some of the most heinous crimes.
German records state that when German officers saw what the Croats were doing to Serbs they were sickened - imagine that Germans who ran extermination camps being sickened.
This is all on record. That’s why Croats are so dumb.

I am glad you mention the 5,000 since I recall at that time as Srebrenica was being surrounded there were 5,000 regular Bosniak troops near there and a corridor was opened for them and they crossed over to Serbia. They were put into buses and headed to Belgrade and other airfields where they were airlifted to various parts of the world.
One group came to Adelaide, South Australia. I recall as if the interview with these Bosniaks took place yesterday. The reporter did not turn off the sound as the men provided answers. They identified themselves and were surprised to see they were in Australia and wanted to return home. As the questions were asked in English the response was made in Serbian then translated to English. However, the English version later played on TV was totally different.
These are the men classified as “missing”. Thus, the Srebrenica myth. Robert Baer, former CIA officer, said as much on the “genocide” issue.

Old malevolent propaganda that equates Croatia with short term puppet state, despite the factography that shows different. For Dacic and his propaganda circle, it necessary to repeat Croatia = Ustasha even when they had partisan veteran generals on top of their army and politics facing towards Milosevic side. I have that book. Interesting reading.
When Gen. Lewis Mackenzie was being replaced by a French general Philippe Morillon gen Mackenzie asked him what he thought of events and if he thought the Muslims were to blame for certain incidents. Gen Morillon simply replied that he has to live among them.
Here is an interesting piece to read:

I have also read posts from Bosnian Muslims accusing Gen MacKenzie of having a steady supply of Muslim girls to "deflower" supplied to him by Serbs.
Outrageous claims are made against this man simply because he wants the truth to be told.

No, "the same" does not apply to Croatia. Never did, never will.
The Ustashe's "declaration of independence" PRECEDED the Wehrmacht's entry to Zagreb by a few hours so, no, Croatia did NOT see the German "occupation" as part of Yugoslavia . By the time the first German troops rolled in, Croatia was already an enthusiastic and independent nazi state.
Unlike Croatia, which functioned as a more or less independent nazi state for the rest of the war, Serbia technically didn't EVEN EXIST during the war. It didn't have fixed territory, it did not have defined borders, it did not have legal status within the occupied Europe and it did not have diplomatic representation anywhere, Berlin included. In fact, it was unique in occupied Europe in the sense that the quasi-laws of the land were PERSONALLY ENACTED, ADJUDICATED AND ENFORCED by the German military command, a totally unique arrangement anywhere in the occupied Europe. Even the name of the occupied country reflected its sublegal status: under the German occupation, Serbia was known as "Territory of the Military Commander"
So, no. Croatian willing and enthusiastic nazism and Serbian "nazism" at the point of the German gun, noose and knife are not now, nor have they ever been morally or legally equal.

A new documentary about the Jasenovac death camp, slammed by Jews as an attempt to revise Croatia’s dark past, was praised by Hasanbegovic as “the best way to finally shed light on many controversial parts of Croatia’s historyâ€. Hasenegovic became a member of the extremist Croatia Liberation Movement, which had been founded by Croatian Nazis in Argentina after World War II. He contributed to the journal Independent State of Croatia, where he wrote about Ustashe as the “true heroes, martyrs and shaheeds who gave their lives for our Homeland,†describing their defeat by partisans led by Tito in 1945 as “the greatest national tragedy.â€

I thought that's what happens when Croatia celebrates Operation Storm every August with neo-Nazi rallies and Thompson concerts full of Australian and American diaspora giving the Hitler salute and shouting "Za dom spremni". I thought that's what happens when the Croatian government tries to relativize the NDH by passing it off as an expression of national patriotism and uses pseudo-academics like Hasanbegovic to argue Jasenovac was simply a labor camp.

People who speak up against this exhibit should be shamed. They were fine about blasting Serbia for the crimes of some of its citizens during the 1990s, but when it comes to the deaths of many multiple thousands in a concentration camp during WWII, not this cannot be done. Why, I ask? Do not the victims of Fascism deserve respect? Did Serbs, Jews, and Roma deserve to die during that period? Ethnic hatred must stop, and it stops by respecting the past so that it cannot happen again. I can't wait to visit this exhibition!

icj1 loves to play word games, but her above comment is inaccurate on many levels: First, Serbia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia. Secondly, the republic of Serbia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII. So if Serbia, Belgrade or Yugoslavia for that matter declared themselves Judendrei, it was the occupying Nazi regime who icj's Ustasha relatives fought with hand in hand, controlled the area while Serb Chetniks, formerly the Serbian Army, resisted the combined Ustasha and Nazi fascists. Yet another attempt by icj1 to misguide the readers. Shameful!

Zlatko Hasanbegovic, an Ustasha sympathiser, is Croatia's culture minister.

The difference, my little cerebrally challenged one, is that the territory of Serbia was occupied by German Forces, whereas, the territory known as Croatia welcomed the Nazis with open arms and partnered with them to rid their territory of all Serbs, Jews and Roma. Sorry snookums, you need to compare apples to apples, and not apples to pig roasts.

the territory known as Croatia welcomed the Nazis with open arms and partnered with them to rid their territory of all Serbs, Jews and Roma.

(Roger, 29 January 2018 09:08)

Are you referring to the book "Peacekeeper, the road to Sarajevo"?
I have that book. Interesting reading.
When Gen. Lewis Mackenzie was being replaced by a French general Philippe Morillon gen Mackenzie asked him what he thought of events and if he thought the Muslims were to blame for certain incidents. Gen Morillon simply replied that he has to live among them.
Here is an interesting piece to read:
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/the-real-story-behind-srebrenica/article737584/
I have also read posts from Bosnian Muslims accusing Gen MacKenzie of having a steady supply of Muslim girls to "deflower" supplied to him by Serbs.
Outrageous claims are made against this man simply because he wants the truth to be told.

Sure, and the same applies to Croatia, too. First, Croatia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia. Secondly, the republic of Croatia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII.
(icj1, 28 January 2018 02:42)
--
No, "the same" does not apply to Croatia.

General McKenzie was't relieved of his duties, but it was a mutually agreed upon decision. The reason why you ask! Well, this honorable gentlemen saw the evil being perpetrated against the Serbs and he didn't want to be a part of one of the biggest lies in the last century. The propaganda the US and NATO waged during the 90's even surpassed Hitler in the late 30' to early 40's - now that's impressive.
That’s why Croats are so dumb.

icj1 loves to play word games, but her above comment is inaccurate on many levels: First, Serbia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia. People who speak up against this exhibit should be shamed.

When Gen. Lewis Mackenzie was being replaced by a French general Philippe Morillon gen Mackenzie asked him what he thought of events and if he thought the Muslims were to blame for certain incidents. Gen Morillon simply replied that he has to live among them.
Here is an interesting piece to read:

I have vacationed in both Serbia and Croatia, and known Serbs and Croats from academia and at work.
Serbs are simple people who call spade a spade; Croats think themselves are more sophisticated who may not call spade a spade.
Serbs make best friends, Croats make worst enemy.

Kolinda should also go to the Waling Wall in Jerusalem and bow for all the Jews that were massacred
(ChiTown, 26 January 2018 16:47)
Sure, after Vucic does that first, since Serbia was the first country in the Balkans to be declared judenfrei during WW2 with the help of Serbia's Government of National Salvation!
(icj1, 27 January 2018 03:27)
First, Serbia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia. Secondly, the republic of Serbia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII.
(njegos, 27 January 2018 16:19)
Sure, and the same applies to Croatia, too. First, Croatia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia. Secondly, the republic of Croatia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII.

playing word games
(njegos, 29 January 2018 15:13)
I'm not playing any word games, dear. You mentioned two criteria to justify Serbia being the first country in the Balkans to be declared judenfrei during WW2; (i) Serbia wasn't a country, but was part of Yugoslavia; and (ii) the republic of Serbia was occupied by the Nazis during WWII. Those exact criteria that you came up with apply to Croatia, too. If you now believe that your criteria were incorrect, feel free to say so and come up with new criteria.

the territory known as Croatia welcomed the Nazis with open arms and partnered with them to rid their territory of all Serbs, Jews and Roma.
(ChiTown, 28 January 2018 13:30)

Stop dehumanizing Croatians because of some death squads appointed by a terrorist group no one wanted except Mussolini and Hitler.

Still waiting for answers to my questions icj1. You've reverted to your old worn out behavior of deflecting, obfuscating and running away. Still waiting, and waiting, and waiting....

Today's Croatia has nothing to do with yesterday's Jasenovac?
why your PM bows in Israel?
When people are poisoned with hatred, they surely lose common sense.

Yes this generation has nothing to do with Jasenovac but how about Oluja? They would repeat Jasenovac in a heartbeat if they could.

Have there been 50, 100 or 700.
Have there been 50000, 100000 or 700000.

Old malevolent propaganda that equates Croatia with short term puppet state, despite the factography that shows different. For Dacic and his propaganda circle, it necessary to repeat Croatia = Ustasha even when they had partisan veteran generals on top of their army and politics facing towards Milosevic side. At the same time, deny and hide everything that happened in Serbia proper in the same period, support anti-Israel movements, vote for any pro-Palestinian question and aggresively exploit Jewish holocaust for your purposes, Jews will be blamed, right? Right.

I have not attempted to minimize any crimes, dear, but I have exposed the hatred towards Serbs that some people like you harbour.

Zlatko Hasanbegovic, an Ustasha sympathiser, is Croatia's culture minister.

"Macek ended up in concentration camp for 5-6 months, came out in worse condition than Lindsey Lohan"
He was internated in Jasenovac, but maybe Tara Reid would better fit the description after he came out since he was around 45kg.

Psycho killers would never apologize to their victims unless the victims are perceived stronger than them.
Croatia PM's bows in Israel approves it once again.
Therefore don't dream it, Dacic....
