Why does the nationality matter, dear?! All that matters about somebody's comments here is the arguments and facts that are used in those comments - the nationality of the writer is irrelevant.

Well it looks like the EU has picked a side in this dispute, and it is not Croatia. The EU usually deal with trouble makers through convenient regime changes. We will see if it happens here. How they do it may give us an idea of the way the EU will deal with other trouble makers like Poland, Hungary, or even Romania. Brian Ghilliotti

You need the medium salary. Average considers everyone, including the billionaires. Medium gives you a true picture of what ordinary people earn.

So, in 2 years’ time Romania will be equal to average UK salaries? I think not.

Maybe you tell me what does Croatia do to have such a high GDP? And remember tourism is only 3 months, so what else does it do to earn such a high GDP?

According to Croatian authorities Croatia’s minimum annual salary is KN131,500 - Є17,424 or US$20,587. Yet in 2017, 50,000 young Croatians have left Croatia.

Such high standard of living and in the last 3 years 250,000 have left paradise??????? Don’t you see something is wrong here? All these people leaving but government says everything is great??????

You are hypnotised by GDP and statistics, but have no idea what they really mean or how they are derived. If Romanians are earning the same money as the German workers right now, then they have a good standard of living if not forget 2020.

40 years ago, GDP only considered goods and services produced within the country. Today its open slather. Anything goes. Romania, Bulgaria Croatia Poland etc all count money accessed from the European Fund and Agriculture Fund as a component of their GDP. This is AID money not money earned through manufacturing or tourism.

Today, GDP is derived using creative accounting or more commonly BS calculations.

I've got an idea. The EU can set up its own panel, let's call it 'Badinter II' and make an arbitrary judgment that suits it the best. After all, that's what the original Badinter commission did when it ruled that that SFRY's administrative borders should be the international borders. It suited the EC states perfectly. Divide and fu!k up.

The main sticking point seems to be the water border. All of this can be easily settled in the International Tribunal for the law of the sea in Hamburg.

In almost all cases the border is in the middle between two countries, except in this case where Slovenia was awarded 3/4 of the bay, which will set a bad precedent for other countries.

This will probably be overridden if they take international law into consideration rather then an arbitration.

Serbia should be especially concerned since if Slovenia is granted the 3/4. Croatia can ask for parts of the Danube to be Croatia waters since it has claims to territory on the east bank of the Danube. This would be a bad precedent for the region as a whole.

The middle is the only fair border between two countries when it comes to water.

Europeans are always yapping about international laws, while violating all of them when it suits them.

"Croatia should put this to UN Security Council, Slovenia backed by Germany clearly violates international law on the sea and basically tries to annex Croatian waters due to illegal pressure, corruption and blackmale. "

"The Slovenian member of the arbitration tribunal ruling on the border between Slovenia and Croatia Jernej Sekolec and a country's advocate in the procedure, Simona Drenik, resigned a day after phone recordings showing they were coordinating their actions were released."

So....there is a trial, in which judge is caught coordinating with one side and conspiring to bring about certain ruling! Such conspiracy have to be accepted as it is "rule of law"!

Look there is something wrong with you. GDP is BS. If Croatia has such a high GDP tell me what do they do to have such a high GDP? and why have 250,000 left Croatia in the last few years with 50,000 in 2017 alone?
If the medium wage in Romania is 2000 Euros per month then you are doing great, but if not all the GDP calculations are a waste of time.

Croatia should put this to UN Security Council, Slovenia backed by Germany clearly violates international law on the sea and basically tries to annex Croatian waters due to illegal pressure, corruption and blackmale. Slovenia also voted against US&Israel and will recognize Palestine shortly, unlike Croatia. Croatia on the other hand is looking to buy Israelly aircrafts.

Mark.W

The middle is the only fair border between two countries when it comes to water.

an observation ,

i see that Croats always tricked Serbia and did what they wanted with Serbia

Serbia is a collapsed country without a future , while Croatia enjoy salaries at a West level and have the beautifull coast of tourism

Serbia is a big power at water polo but recently Croatia beated them !

at football Croatia national team had better results and performances than Serbia and they never lost a game with 6-0 as lost Serbia in 2006 at world cup

Croats may were Ustasha in 2 world war but they are more smart and performant than Serbs in everything !

The only thing that Serbs know is to compare with Romanians who had 40 years of Ceausescu but when is about Croats the CROATS SMASH SERBS WITHOUT A PROBLEM in ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING

-> Based on facts

The fact we overtake Croats at 1 gdp per capita in 2018 is because of the EU they are SMARTER AND SUPERIOR PEOPLE

Dear LENARD => you are more smart than me because you are Croat i respect you

Europeans are always yapping about international laws, while violating all of them when it suits them.

Peter doesn't think so....

"Croatia should put this to UN Security Council, Slovenia backed by Germany clearly violates international law on the sea and basically tries to annex Croatian waters due to illegal pressure, corruption and blackmale. "

Exactly how Yugoslavia fell apart!

Nobody's mentioning why Croatia isn't accepting arbitration?

http://www.sloveniatimes.com/scandal-sweeps-away-slovenia-border-arbiter-croatia-thinking-of-pulling-away

Schlomo, this union is based on NO VALUES, but I hope that it will not fail. This circus is entertaining!
