Dragan Škorić, the president of the village committee of the Serbian Academy of Sciences, pointed out.

- In Serbia, there are more than 50,000 empty houses and three more times out of use - said Škoric, data from the SANU study on the decline of the village in Serbia.

Skoric explains that out of 4,709 settlements, 1,200 are in the phase of disappearance, as every village has less than 100 inhabitants and even in 86 percent of the villages the number of inhabitants is decreasing.

According to him, there are not 2,000 of them, about 500 there is no asphalt road and connection with the world, 2,700 there is no kindergarten, 230 villages do not have elementary school, and 173 schools attend only one student.
