Because I distinctly remember NATO getting involved after it was feared that over a million Albanians were displaced from Kosovo and risked destabilizing neighboring Macedonia, Montenegro, and Albania with a refugee crisis. I remember perfectly the accolades of thanks given to us and the stories of how we saved you from "genocide" for intervening. I also remember stories of KLA terrorizing ordinary Albanians who did not side with their extremism, which is very similar to the tactics of militant extremism seen later in Iraq and Syria. My country already stated that Kosovo should not have an army beyond what it currently has, and it must be coordinated with Kosovo's minorities, which include the Serbs. I know that the Serbian officials even need permission from the Albanians to enter Kosovo,* because it's presently occupied Serbian territory by NATO and by Albanians. However, Serbia still has the power to prevent Kosovo from joining the UN if the Albanians don't get enough recognitions to do so on their own.
Vucic and Serbia want to move forward, maybe he is contemplating a deal of a sort that would benefit both, but I doubt that it's the deal that y'all been dreaming of. Then again who knows, brother?
