Balkans were one people with several dialecs and religions. You were the heart and metropolis of the Ottomans but never a colony. So to calm down you ll have to refuse from your slavery mentallity obtained lately. And you ll need new aristocracy as well.

@gjon, as far as strategy is concerned, it is more strategically advantageous to make an enemy an ally, or to sway one sitting on the fence. often times the advantages is significantly strong enough to upset an existing friend for a short time.
look at it from the american and european perspective:
its much easier for europe and america if the balkans were all peaceful and friendly.
its much easier for europe and america if all the countries were friendly with them
right now serbia is the sore thumb. it does not want to play with europe and america without what it feels are reasonable concessions (how reasonable it is is not up to us to decide). if europe and america can get serbia to fall in line that would be a major stride forward.
it is a large nation in that region, it has a large trading potential.

That was not the argument. It is in everybody`s interest that Serbia gets in line with the west which it is already doing thru the EU admission process. So basically everything you say is already happening. Serbia is already being lead in to the right direction. Serbs and Albanians are the largest ethnic groups in the Western Balkans and key to sustainable peace.

The question was, would Trump annul the recognition of Kosovo for Serbia? That answer is - No. A forced unification would result in war. There is no other possible outcome.

right now kosovo is rather in europe and america's pockets. there is little that america can do that will cause long term significant damage to its relationship with kosovo. and with that being the case, it is strategically valid to sacrifice kosovo for a short term so that serbia can be brought into the fold.

remember, as you've said before, there are no friends in politics, on those that can help, or those that can hurt.
kosovo can't really help or hurt america as much as serbia can help. simple numbers game thats all, nothing to do with ethics or morality or friendship. its only about money, and potential of money to be made

I have heard from three different sources here in NY that Trump administation might revoke the US recognition of Kosovo after he recieved documents why it was made at first.
Do not start to argue about this yet, because I do not know if its true. Probably not true even though I hope its true, because it was a total " faux pas" to recognize Kosovo by the US. Two of these three sources should know at their positions.
We will see.

Whoever thinks that congress and senat are going to let trump go against the most strategic country in the balkans in favour of the most pro Russian country must be insane. And that is only if someone really believes that Serbia has somehow managed to go past Albanian Lobbying of a NewYorker. I don`t have to remind anyone that NY is home to the biggest Albanian diaspora in the world.

O ye, and I got an invitation to talk to Putin and tell him how Kosovars love him.
