That is what Norway has and the UK wants. The only problem is that Norway is paying its membership fees to the EU and does not get to have any vote. the UK does not want to pay but just wants to have free trade. Which the UK probably will not get.

So Serbia will either have to take a deal like the UK gets if it stays out or will hve to pay into the EU budget like Norway and not have any vote to enjoy the benefits of free trade.

So thinking that you can get a good deal with out being a paying member probably won't happen, as a matter of fact the UK will probably be made an example of what it is like to be on the outside looking in.

Serbia already has a free trade agreement with the EU and has had so for over 15 years! The EU was founded between 2 countries, Germany and France, and it was done so to make sure that these two countries would not go to war again (the 1st and 2nd world wars were sparked off, in part, by these two) The EU is MUCH more than just trade. It has made sure that the continent has enjoyed peace for over 70 years (never before was there peace for such a long period). The EU wants the western Balkans to join the EU so that peace can reign over the continent. It's win-win. The price is that Serbia recognises Kosovo as independant, which is a small price to pay because the price is not really about loss of lands the price is about giving in to (stubborn) nationalistic pride.

(1) Are you and/or American "diplomats" aware that Serbian state existed for 330 years before Russia was even established as a country? (Serbia: 1217; Russia: 1547). Russia could not "fund" Serbia when it didn't exist. Or maybe the Russians "funded" Serbia retroactively :-)))?

(2) Serbs never spoke Russian. Until about 1830, they did speak Old-Slavonic, which was a shared liturgical language among most Eastern-Orthodox Slavs (Russians, Bulgarians, Montenegrins, Ukrainians, Belarussyns, even some Czechs and Slovaks).

(3) Serbs never spoke Croatian either, particularly because the Croatians didn't speak Croatian for most of their history (they did speak a very fluent Hungarian and German, though). Likewise, the Serbs also never used Latin alphabet until the early 20th Century.

The EU wants the western Balkans to join the EU so that peace can reign over the continent. It's win-win. The price is that Serbia recognises Kosovo as independant, which is a small price to pay because the price is not really about loss of lands the price is about giving in to (stubborn) nationalistic pride.

That is what Norway has and the UK wants. The only problem is that Norway is paying its membership fees to the EU and does not get to have any vote. the UK does not want to pay but just wants to have free trade. Which the UK probably will not get.

So Serbia will either have to take a deal like the UK gets if it stays out or will hve to pay into the EU budget like Norway and not have any vote to enjoy the benefits of free trade.

So thinking that you can get a good deal with out being a paying member probably won't happen, as a matter of fact the UK will probably be made an example of what it is like to be on the outside looking in.

Kosovo - Isa Boletini, Idriz Seferi were kicking the ottomans out of Kosovo in 1910-1912

Montenegro - Ded Gjon Luli and his army were kicking the turks out in 1911. King Nicholas even made a poem about Albanians liberating Montenegros land called "Malisori Ustanak"

Greece - Ali Pasha of Ioannina (Albanian), Cerciz Topalli were defeating turks and greeks in Greece during the 1800's

(1) Are you and/or American "diplomats" aware that Serbian state existed for 330 years before Russia was even established as a country? (Serbia: 1217; Russia: 1547). Russia could not "fund" Serbia when it didn't exist. Or maybe the Russians "funded" Serbia retroactively :-)))?

(2) Serbs never spoke Russian. Until about 1830, they did speak Old-Slavonic, which was a shared liturgical language among most Eastern-Orthodox Slavs (Russians, Bulgarians, Montenegrins, Ukrainians, Belarussyns, even some Czechs and Slovaks).

(3) Serbs never spoke Croatian either, particularly because the Croatians didn't speak Croatian for most of their history (they did speak a very fluent Hungarian and German, though). Likewise, the Serbs also never used Latin alphabet until the early 20th Century.
