To use a great example, Kosovo is projected to have growth of 4% this year, but its not due to production or trade. It all comes down to Albanians working outside of Kosovo and sending money back. Forty years ago this data would not have been used in calculating growth.
It’s the same in Croatia. EU aid money is used in calculations. Real wages in Croatia are the same as in all the Balkans, but prices are high because of increased government taxes not due to any high standard of living. People are leaving Croatia, last year about 200,000 while this year 36,000 to 40,000. That tells you how well its going in Croatia.
From what I saw in 2015 and from what I have been told since then, Romania is not much better.

Perhaps you may recall Zoran Milanovic's little efforts to show who is boss back in 2015 when he refused entry to all car registered in Serbia? Belgrade closed the border and then panic arose in Brussels who then ordered Zagreb to shut up and allow traffic. Boy didn't he look like a fool LOL.
Croatia is nothing; it produces very little and what it does comes from Podravka and Kras and earns some money from tourism while the EU subsidies it to the tune of 3 billion Euros per annum from the Euro fund alone. In total its somewhere in the order of $7 billion when you take into account other moneys it gets for projects.
Watcht as Zagreb looks like a fool again - stupid Croats.

Nobody is messing with Croatia. It's the other way around and yes by the time Croatia gets it's butt kicked it might be too late and the season is over but I think Croatia won't be repeating this anytime soon.

Croatia think they are some big player in the EU now. They are 4 million people who solely rely on tourism. The have forever een protected as they have never won anything alone. It is like the little guy standing in front of you threatening you. He know you would beat the Ustasha out of him but with his U.S or German friend standing behind him he says what he wants to knowing he has protection.
