Ok, but the West did pay for cleaning up the depleted uranium in Serbia... so that issue has been solved.
America should have thought about its relationship with Serbia before they bombed the country and not always blame others instead! Even today, they don't give a damn about Serbia and Serbs, all they fear is not being able to control this Balkan country, not the fact that people are still relatively poor and need real friends who can help. I like Ted Poe, he takes to the House floor and regularly talks about Serbia's resistance in WWII and specifically how General Draza Mihailovich was an anti-fascist war hero. Mind you, this was even before the great general was rehabilitated in Serbia itself.
But I find it hard to find evidence that Russia is pressuring Serbia on its relationship with the West. In fact, the only pressure seems to come from the West on Serbia towards its relationship with Russia. I've never seen Russia behave in a similar fashion.
So far, it seems Russia's only "demands" are that Serbia doesn't join NATO, and doesn't put sanctions on Russia. These are both realistic, sensible positions that is in Serbia's interest to take. Poe should look at the neocons in Washington and see why they poisoned U.S. relationship with Serbia.
Operation Halyard was a success and the Serbian people were able to rescue over 500 USA air crew of which some were pilots and others air craft support team. One stayed with my then still living family in selo Zverjinac ( Malo Kosovo Dalmatia ) for a couple of months till he healed from some minor wounds from falling from his aircraft. Well we Serbian people got a pretty good return from the USA on this investment alone, we Saved over 500 USA air crew in the 1940's and in the 1990's USA destroyed Jugoslavija, supported with money and arms Croatian Nazi Ustase who murdered and tortured and stole our homes and lands and Albanian Islamic terrorist who are stealing Kosovo and then with U-235 poison bombs murdered probably well over 10,000 Serbian civilians in hospitals, bridges, schools, tv and radio stations, bridges, etc ! So a very nice return from USA for our Serbian contribution of friendship and loyalty !!!
Why would Serbia want the U.S. or any other NATO country near them. Do you not know your own history or the history of the world since World War Two? Do you not look at the news and watch the hate of the U.S lawmakers when they speak about the next country they want to bomb. Do you not know how many countries they have destroyed the world over?
