That means, when Serbia acknowledges the independence of its southernmost province. Don't do it Serbia, EU membership is not worth it. Its like cutting off your nose to spite your face. It will be a very big mistake.

Look at Bulgaria and Romania. They were similar to Serbia a decade ago. Now Bulgarians and Romanians both live better lives. Because of the EU, Sofia and Bucharest have brand new metros, highways, railways, more investment, faster growth, better infrastructure, etc etc.

I understand you give away your sovereignty to join the EU, but for Serbia, who is surrounded by EU, there is no other option if they want stability. And their citizens will have a better life.

Let me start by saying I'm a Brit and not really interested in the 'nationalist' clashes.

For me this news is evident and I see Serbia making great strides. I know a lot of people are jaded about EU accession for Serbia but progress is being made and chapters are being closed. Things in Serbia are changing in a generally good direction, there are some government problems but nothing that Serbs cannot overcome.

My 'dream' when it comes to Serbia is to see the academics given their time to shine which I think will be possible once Serbia becomes a member of the EU and starts to join in on EU projects. Serbia has given Europe and the world a lot of very talented and creative people over the years.

I would also like to see Serbia more connected. Proper roads from Belgrade to Sofia and to Timisoara.

When it comes to the whole clashing about Albania and Kosovo I don't see why Serbia should care. Let Serbian achievements speak for themselves. Compare progress in EU accession between all 3, compare GDP per capita and most other metrics and it is pretty obvious Serbia is ahead of the pack.

What I really don't want to see is people turn to hatred, nationalism and anti-intellectualism. Serbia has made excellent progress but there is still more work to be done.

The belief that Serbia can ever end its dialogue with Kosovo while having Kosovo in its constitution is laughable and absurd! It must have a referendum removing Kosovo from its constitution and then have a vote on recognizing Kosovo. Otherwise People think that Kosovo will accept being in Serbias constitution as a part of Serbia as long as all Serbian governments are bound by law to treat Kosovo as independent?

Don't confuse Serbia and Russia of the 1990's to what they are today. Russia was weak and it had an alcoholic at its helm. Milosevic was, in my opinion, justified in what he did however his timing was wrong. If Putin would've been around instead of Yeltsin, I guarantee you with my life that things would've been different today. Kosovo would be albo-free, Montenegro would still have been in the fold, and the whole of Bosnia and half of Croatia would've been part of Serbia. The timing was wrong and Serbia is now paying a huge price, but let's not despair, there is a resurgent Russia on the horizon.

We already know that Serbia is the one and only one that has always created problems in Balkans and still is with Bosnia ,Macedonia,Kosovo and Croatia.
-Serbia is the one that still keeps millions of people of different community's in Serbia under Force regime and prosecution just because they don't class themselves as Serbs not supporting them not investing on these areas and not allowing community's Speak and learn their languages the community's want.
People that left Serbia have said that they have more rights in other countries of EU then in their Home country Serbia.
2- How could a country that have killed Thousands of innocent people which the criminals that have committed theses crimes which are more than 90% of them are free today and they go on proud of their actions moving freely in Serbia and calling for more blood to be spilled and still without anyone charging them with war crimes or Why Serbia doesn't get fined for these crimes but EU is praising Serbia founding with millions of € euros and how could a country that have hidden thousands of remains of dead humans body on mass graves, Bosnian have more that 10 thousands and Kosovo more than 5 thousands of people missing and Serbia refuses to return remains or location of mass graves and to let their families at lest to buried them with with proper funerals.
UN and EU should bring special resolution to disallowed Serbia to have an army of its own.

I hope nobody is stupid enough to believe the EU. There's only so many times you can lie to people.

Let me start by saying I'm a Brit and not really interested in the 'nationalist' clashes.

For me this news is evident and I see Serbia making great strides. I know a lot of people are jaded about EU accession for Serbia but progress is being made and chapters are being closed. Things in Serbia are changing in a generally good direction, there are some government problems but nothing that Serbs cannot overcome.

My 'dream' when it comes to Serbia is to see the academics given their time to shine which I think will be possible once Serbia becomes a member of the EU and starts to join in on EU projects. Serbia has given Europe and the world a lot of very talented and creative people over the years.

I would also like to see Serbia more connected. Proper roads from Belgrade to Sofia and to Timisoara.

When it comes to the whole clashing about Albania and Kosovo I don't see why Serbia should care. Let Serbian achievements speak for themselves. Compare progress in EU accession between all 3, compare GDP per capita and most other metrics and it is pretty obvious Serbia is ahead of the pack.

What I really don't want to see is people turn to hatred, nationalism and anti-intellectualism. Serbia has made excellent progress but there is still more work to be done.

No EU, No dialogue, No Albos in SERBIA. Use any means necessary.

You are absolutely correct that things would have been different. If a coward like Putin had been in charge in June 1999, the Russian soldiers would have never been sent to Kosovo. That's demonstrated by the fact that Yeltsin sent the Russian soldiers to Kosovo in 1999 to protect the Serbs, whereas Putin withdrew them once he took charge.

Serbia is simply not going to get Kosovo back. All the nationalistic pride in the world will not change that. The best thing to do is to accept this and do what is best for the country, which is joining the EU and NATO.

Serbs know what that means. EU doesn't want to accept new members with border problems. If anybody thinks EU will accept any Balkan country with many problems they are mistaken. Cyprus is a great example.

Don't confuse Serbia and Russia of the 1990's to what they are today. Russia was weak and it had an alcoholic at its helm. Milosevic was, in my opinion, justified in what he did however his timing was wrong. If Putin would've been around instead of Yeltsin, I guarantee you with my life that things would've been different today. Kosovo would be albo-free, Montenegro would still have been in the fold, and the whole of Bosnia and half of Croatia would've been part of Serbia. The timing was wrong and Serbia is now paying a huge price, but let's not despair, there is a resurgent Russia on the horizon.

They were 19 countries attacking a small nation and they were so afraid to launch a land assault fearing high casualty rates all they did was first make sure Serbia could not arm itself properly and then conducted aerial assault. The west paid for the cleaning of depleted uranium in Serbia, the US has given Serbia some of their latest armoured Humvees to fight terrorism gratis, the west is investing in leaps and bounds in Serbia, where Continental just recently y opened a factory which employs about 2,000 Serbs. Then there is China which yesterday signed an agreement with Serbia to establish an industrial park which will employ 5,000 people.

What has NATO/US done for the Albanians? They gave them the middle finger and said they hope you guys enjoy it LOL.

They bombed the hell out of Serbia, took down the terror regime of Slobo and made sure that every hostile force left Kosovo. They recognize the Republik of Kosovo gave us back our Country.

They helped us to regain our freedom, we never asked for more or less.
