If I was attacking Romania I would not waste manpower or equipment I would use ICBMs first.
(sj, 13 July 2017 14:04)
Absolutely! That's why countries that possess ICBMs should hire the CE of B92 forums sj as their adviser given his/her brilliance and experience with a Malaysian commercial bank and a senior government official :)

Yet romanian army cannot enter the area where that "defence shield" is located, even though its in their country.

Sorry sj, but the Patriot is one of the few combat tested air defense systems in existence dating all the way way back to when it was shooting down SCUDS in the first Gulf War. No, it won't stop an ICBM. It was never meant to, but when it comes to aircraft or short-medium-intermediate range weapons it has a track record.
(sj wrong again, 12 July 2017 15:57)
You live in the past. That’s the problem. I recall Saddam Hussain using SCUDS in the first Gulf war against Israel, but they are ancient technology This is 2017 not 1990.
If I was attacking Romania I would not waste manpower or equipment I would use ICBMs first. That is my point. Conclusion = THADD and Partriot = Heap of Crap.

What Romania is buying is indeed tested in combat, but is rather old. People in Romania are asking why are we buying this, given the fact that no one is threating us. Just to make a point, i can tell you that 2 weeks ago, 3 romanian soldiers died and 6 wounded, because the army truck they were in crashed in a valley...It was an OLD army truck. People in Romania say that this purchase is buying a favor from Donald Trump's regime, because the romanian leadership supported Clinton in the last election.

Zoran,
You are delusional. Other than Serbia, nobody wants Russia. Nobody. And Serbia being with Russia is the reason they are being left in the dust by all their neighbors.

The SCUD record of the first Gulf War?
https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg13418171-600-patriot-the-missile-that-missed/
The army now believes that the Patriot successfully
intercepted 24 missiles out of about 85 attempts. But it has ‘high confidence’
in only 10 attempts..
The army has abandoned an investigation of Ted Postol, the professor
at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who has been among the Patriot’s
strongest critics (This Week, 28 March). Postol had been accused of using
classified data in an article he published that was critical of the missile’s
performance.

"Romania will use the Patriot missile system to strengthen its homeland defense and deter regional threats," a statement issued by the agency said, adding:
Who's threatening Romania to begin with? First annex them into Nato, then start the with sales of weapons they don't need (the American way). Satan wins on both fronts, they get to aim the missiles at Russia which is their primary objective and make a profit in doing so. Russia should be doing the same with the South and Central American countries.

The Romanians must have a lot of money to piss up against the wall or the US is subsidizing them.
Just to give an indication of effectiveness of these "superior" US systems, during this ruckus with North Korea testing it latest missile, Australia was being urged to by the US THADD system and the response was "no its not necessary but if we were looking for one it would have to beeter than THADD. What does that mean? THADD and Patriot systems are a heap of crap.
You see there are no systems that can stop an ICBM. Its like trying to take out a bullet with a bullet.

3.8 billion? Wow, Romania is "rich" :-)
It is the only Black Sea country that (only just) favours the US as its protector. All other nations see Russia as its protector. However, in the case of Romania, that trend is changing so best for the US to offload a few billion in weapons while it can.
