You don't see that it was primarily Serbian in that region warped to sound like something else.
(Peggy, 14 July 2017 02:31)

Well, from Croatia's point of view, the language spoken is Serbia is primarily Croatian warped to sound like something else.

Obviously both Croatia and Serbia's point of view are correct from the perspective of each of them.

The respected authority has spoken! Why would you debate something that will not change? Its a variant of the Serb language.

I guess the only positive point I can make is on my Curriculum Vitae (CV) I put down that I speak all languages: Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian & Montenegrin - makes me look super multi lingual!

Peggy

pre 6 godina

I am Croatian and neither Croatian, nor Montenegrin is Serbian. They are their own languages with NOTHING to do with Serbia. Just because Serbs copy many of our words, does NOT mean the languages are the same.
(Hrvatska, 12 July 2017 22:20)
=======================
Now I've heard it all.
Serbs would have to copy the entire language not just a few words. Do you need an interpreter when you speak to a Serb? Does a person from Montenegro need one? Geez, Montenegrins are studying in Serbian universities but they had to learn the language first?
We are all same people only separated by religion. We are all Slavs and our language is the same with some variations. Two villages in the same area might have some variations, let alone people spread over such a large area.
If you had any intelligence you would have common sense to see this.
How is Cyrillic used in Croatia a copy of Croatian? You don't see that it was primarily Serbian in that region warped to sound like something else.

Serbian language originates from Ukraine/Russian mountain caves.

After invasion of thousands he Balkans and After learning to walk on two Serbs copied Croatian and Montenegrins 🇲🇪 language.

The reason Serbs are 6 million is because they multiply like rabbits .

It's just as possible the Serbian language is really a variant of the Croatian or Montenegrin language!

No it's not. Serbian being the language of the largest demographic had a lot of influence in the way Croats spoke.
After the war of the 90s Croats decided to change all that and what we have now is anyone's guess.

Albert,

Bulgarian and Macedonian are 95% identical. After all, Macedonian is a Western Bulgarian dialect.

I am Croatian and neither Croatian, nor Montenegrin is Serbian. They are their own languages with NOTHING to do with Serbia. Just because Serbs copy many of our words, does NOT mean the languages are the same.

IN FACT ALL SLAVIC LANGUAGES WERE SLOVENSKI IN 16 CENTURY. IT WAS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE. SURE THERE COULD BE REGIONAL DIALECTS OF THE LANGUAGE BUT THE DIFFERENCE COULD NOT BE BIG ENOUGH TO FORM SEPARATE LANGUAGES. FORMALLY BEFORE 16 CENTURY ALL BALKAN PEOPLES INCLUDING THE ROMANIANS, MOLDOVANS AND SHQIPTARS WERE BULGARS I.E. VOLGA PEOPLE OF THE ВЕЛИКОЕ КНЯЖЕСТВО БУЛГАРСКОЕ REFLECTED ON THE GREAT STAMP OF IVAN GROZNY.

Macedonian and Bulgarian are surely further apart than Serbian and Montenegrin. Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin and Serbian are all dialects of the same language. The reasons for separating them are purely political, not linguistics. Even dialects inside Macedonia are further apart than Serbian and Montenegrin.

Only in the Balkans where the hatred runs so deeply that 4 languages have been crated from 1 (Serbian). The difference between Serbian, Croatian, Bosniak and Montenegrin is similar to the difference between English speaking Americans from the north and English speaking Americans from the south. Yes, some words are different and phraseology may be different, but in no case is it enough to justify a new and distinct language. My family is from Montenegro and I have relatives in both Montenegro and Serbia and guess what? They all understand each other without a translator. Very silly stuff.

This is impossible, every time I go to Podgorica to obtain documents I have to wait an extra few days to obtain them because I request the documents in Serbian. It must be extremely difficult for the government staff to translate Montenegrin to Serbian, but I wouldn't know because I can not communicate with them, I only speak Serbian and not Montenegrin.

All Slavs spoke at least two languages before 17 century - Slovenski as the single official language of the Great (Roman, Mongol, Tartar) Horde and Turkic (not Turkish!) as the international language. So the differences among the Slavic languages appeared after they became submitted to the West.

If you have a good look at the Montenegrin flag you will find the coat of arms of the Great Horde where only two smaller crowns are missing. But in the center there's the emblem of the Great Princedome of Bulgar (Великое Княжество Булгарское) that explains everything. No nations or states have existed on the Balkans before 19 century ...
