There are probably billions of dollars worth of black market goods smuggled through Macedonia, northern Albania/Kosovo, and Montenegro. The CIA would like to dollarize this black market, supporting local corrupt politicians collecting transit fees in dollars or euros, who then place their earnings in the western fiat banking system, in secret accounts to maintain banking solvency. If any of these local corrupt politicians have other plans with their earnings, the CIA will no longer protect them. It is also a wonderful way of implementing inflation control, as over printed fiat currencies are taken out of the system by assetizing them into black market goods, where they disappear from circulation. Once these goods reach the distributors, they are sold in dollars or euros only, under the same conditions. Or the CIA can just sell to the distributors directly, if they need cash. With Macedonia out of the CIA's control, this arrangement will be disrupted, and the CIA will not have it.

Partition seems likely but i do hope if it happens it does so peacefully without bloodshed. The Albanians have conducted themselves gracefully during this entire process. Its Gruevski and his deluded Antiquization Slavs that are the criminals.

As an Albanian I have no animosity or objections to Russia creating stronger bonds with its Slavic brethren in the Balkans. However we don't want to be part of the Russian political sphere. Our main object is bonding with the west and hopefully modernising our country and building a strong sustainable nation with a competitive economy.
