No it was not 59 tommahawks mate. It was 64 missiles of which 5 ended up in the sea after launch. Something like over 20 landed in sparsely populated areas of Israel and Syria with the balance at the airport. At $1.2 million per missile just under 50% did not even reach their target. Good value for money; don’t you think?
The targeted area did not have one aircraft and the bunkers, which held aircraft at some point in time, were empty, but not one hit or destroyed. An aerial view of the bombed site indicated that the 2 runways were not touched. Later on the news I heard a US military officer state that they were not bombed because, and get this, “there was no point since the runways could be repaired quickly”.
“…nothing you behave like a good boy.”
Now if this mission was “so successful” why didn’t the US do that at the beginning and stopped Assad from taking over Homs and Alleppo??? Think about it.
No possum there is more to this than meets the eye.
Another item I nearly left out. The Russians were advised well in advance of the action.
