You mean like the Americans I recently saw on French made documentary on poverty in the US where a tent city was established in one of the suburbs of San Francisco and the people living there were asked if they felt they were let down by their country living in those conditions? They responded in the chant of USA, USA, USA. Yeah that's what I thought too poor bastards.

Few days ago, I had a chance to talk to a Syrian, and I used the opportunity to hear, first hand, opinion of former Aleppo resident.
There was no idealizing anything in this guy's opinion, rich with Arab-style cursing.

Locals (curses on all of their fathers)- government and opposition, are not fighting for the people but for themselves. It's struggle for power, that's all.
Regional players , (may crows drink water from their sculls) - Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, are fighting for influence over the region.
Out of region powers, (may jackals grow fat on their carcasses)- Russia, USA, are in it for their own geopolitical calculations...

More realistic, then idealistic.

What's wrong with us? Are we something worse than the Anglo-Saxon bastards? Do we kill millions like they do ? What's wrong with the Koreans ? Did they launch a single war or they simply have to defend from the siphilis Anglo-Saxons ? Permanent sucking brought to irreversable genetic consequences of the Shqiptares I think.
