Germany: EUR 50mn fines for "hate speech and fake news"

Germany will impose fines of up to EUR 50 million against "online giants that fail to remove hate speech and fake news reported by users within a week."

Can we believe that they will sanction their own leaders in the future?
I doubt it. It's meant to sanction those whose opinions are not in agreement with theirs.
