Total number of the executed during the last 17 years of Stalin (1936-1953) was less than 790k including the murderers, thiefs, traitors during WW2 and the political opposition. Article 58 (state treason) was implemented both for the traitors and the dissidents. Before 1936 repressions weren't massive and touched mostly the old Bolsheviks who were agents of influence of the USA, England and Germany.

Stalin was the Godfather of the revived Poland and of Voisko Polskoe formed in the USSR. Combat losses of the Poles in WW2 were 123k with 63k of them in 1939 and 60k dirung the next 6 years i.e. 10 000 per year. Soviet losses in Poland exceeded 600 000.

In WW2 380 000 of Poles of Armia Kraiova killed about 1000 Germans while in the neighboring Byelorussia the Germans lost about 1 000 000. Also two big Polish armies were formed in 1941 but none of them fought the Nazi as well. Those were 1 Corp of General Anders ( 130 000) and the Reserve Corp (200 000) in Scotland. altogether the 3 forces had 130+200+380 = 680 000 traineded to be used against the USSR.

The only two forces that fought the Nazi were Voisko Polskoe (70 000) and Armia Ljudowa (32 000) that both fought well. Above 500 000 Poles fought us within Wermaht and 62 000 of them met the Victory as prisoners of war. This day Polish veterans of Armia Ljudowa and Voisko Polskoe celebrate together, others - separate.
