He wasn't a puppet but a soldier of the Empire and every next one will be the same. Do you know what differs Empire elites from the regional ones ? The Empire elites keep fighting even after their Empire is gone while regional elites begin to trade themselves since the first days that they feel themselves free. You are overlooking the obvious, Churkin was one of Putin's victims. He must have displeased little Vlad like so many before him. Being a Russian diplomat implicitly implies having a short life. Let this be a warning to all those that desire to be a lackey of Putin.
